I don't think he gets granted a rematch. Cleverly mentioned big domestic fights & if they make money they make sense imo.

Trouble is he has been well beaten by Groves and DeGale so what route is left ?

Froch could of been wiped out by groves early there ain't no shame in that!! He got clipped clean & early in the round & in boxing your only as good as your last fight

That's the only he has left, Groves and DeGale stopped him, he won't get a rematch, Froch and Ward aren't interested, unless he gets lucky and Dirrell comes calling, which is unlikely, it's Fielding or retirement, unless he fancies earning a world title fight, which would take time he doesn't really have.

He needs to stop eating pies in between fights and have more than a couple of fights a year.

The thing is, Froch did get put down heavily by Groves but got back up and recovered.

Wouldnt actually take that long if he got a final eliminator or something. The problem is it most probably end up being against Gilberto Sanchez who is the highest ranked guy in the WBO rankings atleast outside of Stieglitz and abraham and Sanchez would stop Smith I think.

When asked about the fight on sky sports a few months ago he said he would be getting 4 or 5 times more for fighting abraham than he would for fighting fielding in liverpool.

How true that is i don't know but that's what he said.

Smith's profile has certainly risen after Saturday. Good timing on his part, fighting a non-motivated and unfit Abraham who's probably on the slide anyway. No losers really.

When you think that since losing to Groves in 2011, Smith has fought Tommy Tolan, Tony Dodson, Jamie Ambler and David Sarabia - and he ends up fighting for a World Title against Abraham !! Boxrec have him at 38 ranked in the world at Super Middle (probably a bit harsh considering Mark Hefron is at 30) - I dont think he should be made mandatory for a rematch personally.

I'd like to see him in with someone like Rebrasse or Brandon Gonzales next so we can put the Abraham fight into some context. I think we'll quickly learn that Abraham was terrible, rather than Smith being a genuine world class operator.

It took him 11 1/2 years to come nowhere near to earning a world title fight and he's never had more than 2 'proper' fights - ie title fights - in a year, I can't see him being active enough or good enough to get another shot, he's not far off retirement as it is.

No I joke he did well but it is not a fight I would want to see again I much prefer him as a pundit to watching him fight.

I think Abraham got a million euros which is what 900 I'd of said smith would of got 125 to 150 tops & had he won he's next purse would of gave you a boner!
