Big guy with excellent controlling jab would take out Tyson anytime they met. "Iron" Mike would have lost heart by the 5th round and hung around for maybe 3 or 4 more.

Even Tyson later said that he doubted he could ever have beaten Lewis.

While Lewis' chin was hardly made of granite, he protected it well when he was focused and in shape. Steward saw to that.
Don't let his 2 KO losses fool you. See how he handled the rematches when he actually paid attention to his foes.
Likewise, Lewis would be ready for Tyson and hand out a slow, steady beating...much like he did in 2002.

Lewis was knocked down twice in his entire career. One was a haymaker from Rahman. (He never should have been caught with it, but that isn't the issue.) That punch would have ko'd about anyone; certainly Tyson.
The only other one was against McCall and he did get up.
He was seldom in serious trouble in his other fights.

Tyson got knocked out by Buster Douglas. It was a culmination of several good punches, but you would expect a fighter with a great chin to take them; certainly not get knocked out.
Tyson also was knocked down, seriously hurt and stopped by Holyfield.

Neither had a glass jaw and neither had an iron chin.

What is the argument that Tyson had a significantly better chin?

Tyson. No doubt. Lewis was made to order for Tyson. Hell, he was scared shitless in the first round against a totally shot Tyson to the point he had Steward screaming at him. He would have shit himself if he had to face a prime Tyson.

Tyson never beat anyone great. Maybe a former great---the aging, just-coming-out-of-retirement Larry Holmes, but he never dusted off a contemporary ATG.
So where's all the certainty about Tyson destroying Lewis coming from?
He had his rear kicked twice by Holyfield--a legitimate ATG---and was pounded by a late version of Lewis, arguably an ATG.

Made to order for Tyson?? It's the other way around. Tall man with thudding jab and great ring sense would always handle little Tyson. Tyson never displayed the heart to beat a quality heavy like Lewis.

well i think lewis with his physical advantages would win.
but a young, fearless tyson is very dangerous. and it only takes a moment to cause damage.

also what comes to mind is tyson fought ruddock hard for 12 rounds. yet lewis bombed him out in 2. so, advantage lewis.

Totally irrelevant. Tyson by the time he fought Ruddock was already past his best while Lewis was in his absolute prime.

People seem to forget that Tyson was already undisputed Heavyweight champion, before Lewis even turned pro!

As for the question, Lewis of any given fight doesn't have a chance against an in form Tyson.

The argument is that Lewis not only was knocked out by Rahman and McCall, he was wobbled by other fighters. Bruno, Tucker, Briggs, Akiwande, Mercer and Mavoric to name a few. Tyson on the other hand went toe to toe with Bruno, Ruddock, Smith, and came out more or less unscathed. Tyson was never starched by a single punch like Lewis had been.

well, i think lewis was a bigger puncher with a longer reach and a winning mentality. plus lewis beat him in Real life and beat Holyfield who whupped Tyson. in fact i doubt anyone could have beat lewis.

Lewis had nice tools, but his chin was weaker than china. Mike would take out Lennox inside of three rounds.
