Looked like it was bouncing last night what an atmosphere. Warrington is very tidy. Did it sell out?

Looked like a great atmosphere, probably close to a sell out, but they only opened half the arena, so really it was less than half full.

bout 5k in i think warrington sold nearly 2k himself

There was only around that at the M.E.N with Quigg, Crolla and AJ on.

i went last night, atmosphere was amazing! Hopefully it'll mean more big time boxing for the city of Leeds!

I hope so as my lad lives in Leeds and he rang me on Saturday morning informing me of the bill (i already knew as I am on Boxrec) if there was anyone worth watching I would have gone, if Joshua was on the bill for example. Anyway I hope we get some good fights as its only a 10 minute drive away so im up for some action

It's mad how a fighter can shift nearly 2k tickets by himself. How do they do it?! What I mean is most people dont have 2 thousand close friends and family or even just friends in general. If they did im sure there would be more fighters that would be able to sell so many tickets.

It's not family and friends at that stage, no fighter could get a fight if they only sold to family and close friends, unless they're a traveller because of the size of the families. We all have mates outside of our close circle of friends, fighters sell to those and it spins off from there, more and more people start turning up. In this case it's come from the tie in with the football club, they've got a load down from there, who are buying their tickets direct from Warrington, even though they may have never met him personally, or have heard of him, before 6 months ago.

I had a look at the ticket sales Friday I'd say nowhere near a sell out (theyre good on tv at making it look full) think the top tier part wasnt even open.

Personally think I would have hated being in that type of crowd, all football fan dickheads (whats 'who the fornicate are man united' got to do with a ricky burns fight) who know fornicate all about boxing but jumped on the bandwagon of a local fighter cuz hes now on sky....how many of them were cheering him on at VIP shows eh?

Each to their own, i thought it looked and sounded quality on TV. Really adds to the occasion.

Agreed. Leeds Utd had an early kick off as well on Saturday, so I bet a load of their fans had been drinking heavily during the interim before turning up to the fight. It's bad enough putting up with idiotic football fans at actual football matches, let alone boxing matches

I actually think the atmosphere could have been even better.

It was double the crowd than the Wednesday night show in May, but the crowd weren't as loud and didn't for as long. I put that down to many of them being pissed on Saturday due to the Leeds v Sheff Wed game kicking off earlier.

There were about 6,000 there on Saturday which is exceptional. Anyone says "but it wasn't a sell out" has no idea how big a crowd that is for a bill that didn't feature a world title fight. It was sold out for what the arena was set up for. The Leeds Arena was specifically designed to hold events of differing sizes without losing its atmosphere. It can be scaled down much more easily than most arenas or can accommodate 13,500 if at capacity.
