Floyd Mayweather vs 10 Welterweight Greats (poll)

From an old edition of the Ring Magazine that I recently found in my apartment:
Which of the above ten would have beaten Floyd Mayweather Jr. All the fights take place in the Welterweight Division and are 15 rounders.
If you think they an Old Great would have won the fight, tick his option. If you believe Mayweather would win the bout against them, leave it unticked.
Think carefully, you will not be allowed to revote.

I'm not everyone understands this and I'm not sure I understand this myself.
You can vote for as many "old timers" as you want, right? I voted for 8 of the 10. I looked at the results and 3 of 16 people had voted for Sugar Ray Robinson, and no one got more? That can't be right.
Can you really vote for more than one guy on this?

Yes, they are all going to fight a prime Floyd Mayweather at Welterweight. So we're going to have 10 fights.

Which eight?

Yes, you can choose all ten if you believe they all would have beaten him.

The percentages are averaged out. I.e..all the votes collectively add up to 100%...doesnt give correct or clear picture!

I thought that I had explained this well. If not, and people struggle to understand it, I will delete the poll and try it again. I don't want the results getting skewered.

I'd say PBF has only 2 real chances against the smaller guys like Armstrong & Basillio, who would still push him and not suffer his dance routine. But all the other bigger lads would surely beat him more often than not!

I voted for everyone except for Basilio and Walker. (However it only counts one, not sure which). Walker was not that great of a welterweight. He was a much better middleweight.

evernb alluded to this earlier:
The poll isn't letting people vote for more than 1 person. Notice if you add up the total votes of each "old-timer" it adds up to exactly the total amount. If you could vote for more than fighter, the vote total would be way above the total amount of votes.

It seemed very straightforward from the OP to me.
I was able to vote for 8 fighters to beat Floyd. All but Gavilan and Griffith. Doesn't the vote totals tell the story? I.e. 12 votes each for the sugar rays, 11 votes for hearns, seems to indicate all voters chose the Rays, 11 chose Tommy 3 chose walker etc

You must be joking . .Kid Gavilan and Emile Griffith don't beat Mayweather?
Floyd is not a great welterweight. Lightweight . . yes. He's a very good welter who has dominated in a horrible era.
Floyd loses to all 10.

Gavilan and Griffith would be cagey affairs but they operated at a higher level so it's hard to pick against them. But the fights would be close-ish.
Armstrong, Basilio and Walker would be terrific fights but I suspect their pressure would be too much for Mayweather.
Floyd might frustrate Napoles enough to throw him off his game.
I think a more competitive match ups for Floyd would be with Don Curry and Marlon Starling.

Pernell whitaker would have been a tough bout for him also.

I imagined Floyd more 'stealing' the win than actually giving Gavilan and Griffith a beating. How do you see those two fights going?

Griffith was possibly the greatest ever at winning narrowly.
Gavilan...well I haven't seen too much of him. But he had a great defence. And was far more proven. I think more experience in close fights would be big advantages for Griff and Gav.

I would have Floyd beating Mickey Walker. That's the only one . He'd do better against ATG super feathers or lightweights.

I have never seen the great Mickey Walker fight. He fought in an era that is probably gone about 80 or 90 years, so I cannot tell if he could beat the great Pretty Boy Floyd. But of all of those guys above, I think he loses to all of them. If he gets to beat one those greats, it would be a very close decision. The question is, if Floyd evef had the pace and skill and guts of those greats.
