Why do no small hall UK promoters do this type of thing?

Full card over ustream, free and legal for fans, adverts between rounds, 1 camera (so not going to cost much) no commentary just the fight streamed with live sounds

Surely can't cost must to have a decent webcam and a phone (on 4G preferably) to use as a portable wi-fi hotspot, or just use a venues wi-fi if it has it

Note-I know coldwell has his app and VIP stream some of their stuff as well, sort of forgot about those two. Sorry!

It's very easily done to be honest.

1. Fast laptop
2. mixer (if you want to add a mic for commentary)
3. Two HD digital cameras positioned either side of the ring, fixed and where possible, manned by someone who can follow the action and zoom in.
4. Change the venue's wifi password for the night so only the broadcaster is using it, or run a ethernet cable to their router. Need 1mb upload minimum.
5. Set up Livestream account (pro version allows you to charge via paypal if PPV)

Livestream will then encode the stream into flash and html5 (for apple devices) and will vary the stream speed dependant on the recipients broadband speed or if they are 3G.

All the operator has to do is fade in/out the cameras using simple software and set the mic levels from the cameras and the commentary mic, so one they are evenly balanced)

I've been thinking about doing this for some time but haven't pulled my finger out yet. I was always under the impression the upload speeds would make a poor quality/grainy picture that nobody would want to see.

Do you have to pay the Livestream firm that was mentioned above? Don't Youtube offer a free livestream service for ones channel?
