Whoever tweets for GGG just tweeted:
Gennady Golovkin @gggboxing 1h1 hour ago
Last day in the training camp before #GolovkinRubio on Oct 18, StubHub, @HBOboxing @TomLoeffler1 @abelthesummit
What happens next ? How do boxers taper ?

GGG goes into a underground lair & kills a baby dragon & drinks its blood. Most fighters probably just go wild on Netflix.

But they need to keep practicing to stay in shape and to not gain weight ...

He'll come down from Big Bear to sea level and into a hotel. All the hard work is done at this point, this week will be about making the weight, allowing the body to recover from the training camp and preparing mentally for the fight. Sparring's finished, the major physical work is finished, all he has to do is get down to 11st 6lbs by Friday, this isn't the time to be pushing the body for minute physical improvements.

I expect it would be a runthrough of the tactics and gameplan to counter Rubio's threat while enjoying the dragon blood and meat that has been aforementioned.

I realize that he will not be doing hard training showed here

or sparring, but he should be doing something to stay in shape. In other sports, they just cut intensity and length of practices, but don't stop practicing except maybe the last day.

Wasn't Golovkin like...164 at the WBC 30 day weigh in? I can't imagine him needing to lose any weight at all at the moment just simple gym work for a few days, let the body rest and recover.

He was 165 at the 30-day weigh-in and 165 again yesterday at the 7-day weigh-in.

With a guy like GGG who is close to fighting weight at all times (the same goes for Mayweather), they just lighten up a bit on the intensity and duration of the training. This close to a major fight, you don't want to risk an injury. Most boxers have minor aches and pains and letting those heal during the last week is very important.
