According to Charles Sale in todays Sports Agenda he says head of SKY Sports Barney Francis has personally rung David Haye and George Groves encouraging them to be part of the Bellew PPV. Sale says it's unusual for SKY to demand extra money from subscribers for such a bout as Bellew v Cleverly hence the alleged involvement in Francis of beefing up the undercard.

It's only what everyone has been saying that this is not a PPV match or bill and if Groves and Haye are added no doubt it will be against TBA and no way a 50/50 meaningful match.

They can put whoever they want on the undercard, never again will I pay extra to watch a night of boxing. I already pay a subscription to Sky Sports there should be no such thing as PPV to any subscribers.

Like a fool I've paid up in the past, no longer will I be treated like a mug.

everybody knows that this is the worst pay per view card ever and should not be pay per view with these headliners..

No, but they are at least recognisable names. People haven't got a clue who Tony and Nathan are. It's the lowest profile ppv since Earl-Bennett.

It would be extraordinary if this PPV wasn't in trouble. Terrible decision from Hearn & Sky, sounds like they've at least recognised the backlash.

Eddie keeps banging on about how good the undercard will be either he has something up his sleeve. Quigg v TBA, Smith v TBA, Joshua v Sprott and Mcdonell fake defence is really poor. He said 3 great fights to be added, unlikely at 4 weeks notice

Yea hearn is saying things like ''massive card'' and ''huge night for british boxing'' and well it isn't really is it?

Aside from an excellent main event all the other fights are just the kind of fights hearn usually throws on a saturday for your standard subscription.

Im kindov Glad that i have a party to attend on the 22nd as this saves me the dilema of buying this when im sat in the house , it is a joke that they put boxing fans in this position.

if you subrcribe to sky sports then you should get a discount for any Pay per view @ the very least
but even then for this type of show shouldnt even come into question.

Do you think they've backed themselves into a corner now and won't contemplate dropping the PPV price tag?

If they do it on this occasion after the push they've tried to give it, us fans may be tempted to be more vocal about it if successful.

I think they will drop the PPV status.

They'll never do that, but I won't be at all surprised if one of the 'big' undercard fights gets cancelled & is used as an excuse to put the full card on regular Sky as a 'gift' to boxing fans.

Shingo wake has pulled out of the quigg fight so hopefully this helps....

Neither David Haye or Groves will be seen anywhere
near an undercard for a small event like this.

Also if big Barney has been making calls to try to boost this shitty event I would personally prefer that he instructs Hearn to move aside and let him deal with McGuigan to try to get Frampton- Quigg on FFS.

the thing is normally when theres a pay per view there is a Star Name fighting top of the bill , ie Haye , Froch ,Groves , Hatton ect evne if ther undercard and opponent isnt great

so when these come round even the pubs get inolved and pay the pay per view

really cant see any Pubs (ouside of Livepool ) putting this on to boost numbers

It will sell to boxing fans in Wales and Liverpool and maybe a few casuals there as well. The hardcore throughout the rest of Britain seem quite pissed off with this and I don't think they will buy.

Out of interest...was he ever ACTUALLY announced for it? I know no one in the Japanese sports press (i.e. Nikkan Sports, Sponichi, Sanspo, Boxingnews.jp or the Daily) mentioned it. The talk about it all seemed to be from the British press...

off topic when was the last time a decent Japanese fighter came over to these shores. i can't think of one recently.

That's a big shout. I would argue that Groves-Degale was worse.

Also, changing subject slightly, I do always find it amusing when FW bangs on about Sky stopping PPV as his reason for jumping ship, setting up BN etc. He ALWAYS puts it down to David Haye, when he was equally culpable with his mediocre cards (such as the one mentioned above)!!!

Surely Khan/Fagin was the worst PPV?
