It's canny. Not too much in the way of direct sit down interviews with Hagler but its still an interesting read. His perceived struggles with the governing bodies who he believed were against him succeeding was something I knew little about. He certainly comes across as quite intense.

I am looking forward to it, didn't he have to go to philly, to get meaningful fights in his early days?

Yeah it read like he was his own worst enemy sometimes though, especially in those early years when he felt avoided and spoke his mind a little too much.

Does it talk about what he did after boxing??

Not in any real depth. It's mainly focused on his career. It's a good read.

its a really good read, once I started reading it I was going through 2-3 chapters a night

i like those stories from the early days (in Four Kings), how he walked into the gym and just sat at the back for a week or so, just observing.

and how after not too long, his technique was improving exponentially, it became obvious he'd be practising at hime in his bedroom, over and over again, for hours.

Marvin is the ultimate self-made fighter, which is why he struggled with the naturals. Nevertheless, he had the guts to walk away and stay away. It nearly killed him but his legacy gets better and better.
