Love this fight. I'd be cheering for Walters but I think Loma probably takes it.

I really believe Loma Will pull it out, hes a better Boxer than Walters, He wont stand in front of walters. Walters will be swinging for the fances all night long but he has that power. Its a 50/50 fight and i think Loma pulls it out.

Lomachenko, by a wide decision or late stoppage as well. Walters' jab sure looked good against someone who barely moved his head. Lomachenko would do what he did with Russell Jr.'s jab, which is slip it, block it, parry it, and counter it. On the occasions that he does slip it and get inside, he will bang him to the head and body. And while on the inside, his superior technique, hand-speed, and defensive responsibility would allow him to dominate. He is also too economical and diverse in his attack to become predictable, unlike Darchinyan and Donaire, who are heavily reliant on their lefts. Plus, Lomachenko is naturally bigger than Darchinyan and Donaire, so I doubt Walters muscles Lomachenko around. Lomachenko is just too good for Walters.

If Walters got stunned by a blown-up flyweight, my guess is that the cumulative effect of Vasyl’s punches will wear him down and force him to either cover up and become defensive, which is not his strength, or trade blows and get stopped.
Just because he was a blown up flyweight though, that doesnt mean he couldnt punch at the weight. He dropped Vetyaka in the fight before and obviously knocked out Darchinyan in the fight before that.

It's really hard to rule out Walters here. He impressed me big Saturday night. He was quicker than I thought. And he is much better fundamentally than I had originally thought as well. If Salido's wild pressure and roughness gave Loma trouble, I expect Walters' fundamentally sound aggressiveness to give him fits. And that jab is one of the best in the sport ATM.

THAT WAS LOMA'S 2ND FIGHT, by the end of the fight he became a pro he learned in that fight. I hate when people use that fight as an indicator of a Lomachenko weakness. In a rematch Loma outboxes solidos ears off.

I think Walters' jab is being severely underrated. Also, I don't think Lomachenko likes the rough stuff. Walters can rough him up.

I think people are thinking that Lomachenko is a young Floyd and can dance around en route to a UD, but that's not as easy as it looks.

Lomachenko's chin is still to be tested, so it is hard to predict.

Go ahead. Take a stab at it.
You don't want to disappoint Loma, do you?

Didn't Salido test his chin some? I came away with the impression from watching that fight that he doesn't have a glass jaw for sure.
I would pick Loma to beat Walters as Loma would come in at angles and I give Loma hand speed advantage, It could be possible for Walters to take the best Loma has and over take Loma through will and conditioning, but I got Loma in this fight. A fight I wish was coming soon.

its an interesting one. i think Lomachenko is more likely, with his experience, to have faced and overcome the problems that Walters will give him, than vice-versa. a southpaw with the kind of good head/body and foot movement that Lomachenko possesses is a good skillset to offset a guy who uses the left jab a lot, like Walters does. however a tall rangy beast with athleticism and power is a difficult animal to tame.

Going back and forth on this one, I can't decide.
Lomachenko's punch power isn't great although he's a good technician has nice footwork and mixes up the punches well, his ring generalship and positioning are highly rated.
But down in bandit country [Bantamweight Featherweight and Lightweight] there are so many competitors that can put your lights out in a second it's hard to imagine he'll freestyle without someone figuring him out.

Lomachenko is a Sugar Ray Leonard caliber fighter. All he needs to do is learn English to get a larger fan base and stay away from fat inducing food and he will be winning for a long time to come.

I didn't say like I said caliber. My definition of caliber is level. I don't think their fighting styles are the same at all.

A fighter the caliber of Leonard doesn't lose to Salido. Ever.

I disagree. Any fighter can lose early in their career if they are matched up too hard.
