Hmm interesting question. I'd say probably Golovkin though as he's known more to the american market. Obviously his style helps aswell but Froch isnt exactly boring either.

There you go... that's your answer right there!
He was fighting another U.K. guy in the U.K. after a contoversial stoppage in the first fight. It created an interest among casual fans.

It depends on where you mean then. If you were just talking about in the states then it has to be Golovkin.

Are you guys forgetting that when a British boxer fights in the US, with fights that are this big, then they're usually PPV's on both sides of the pond?
There is a world that exists outside the US, you know?
I'm english mate so i would know, yes.

You must be more precise. Why did you cut off thousands and hundreds of dollars ? What was it on a day he got the check ?

Carl. GGG is gaining popularity but isn't quite there yet.

Froch will get a fair few UK PPV if he doesn't fight too late on the card, say 1-2am.
I don't see what the big thing about fighting Chavez Jr is to be honest. Froch/Golovkin, whoever Jnr fights, he'll get beat by anyway.

Any combination of the 3 will make an interesting fight.
I'm buying it regardless

In the U.S., a Chavez-Froch match draws maybe 350,000 PPV buys. Maybe a little less.
A bout with the more popular and visible Golovkin might garner close to 600,00.
Junior and Martinez did attract about 500,000 buys 2 years ago, and Maravilla wasn't the name that Golovkin is rapidly becoming.
It's true that Chavez' star may have diminished since 2012, but a matchup between the Son of the Legend and the "third greatest middleweight of all time" (ask Abel Sanchez) would still be a huge attraction.

Is Chavez getting a cut of the UK ppv?
If not that makes UK ppv completely irrelevant, they'll be looking at the fight that probably sells more ppv's in America.
For me..............I'll get either fight just sign it and put it on the calendar.

They will also look at a fight where they think Chavez has more chances, and it looks like Arum thinks that it is Froch. I am not sure if Chavez is working with Arum anymore though.

Arum recently said that Junior can fight Froch and then his contract with TR is over.
We'll see.
As for Fergusg, I'm curious. How much do these PPV telecasts run in the U.K? You say Froch and Groves attracted 900,000 buys when they last hooked up.
I'm assuming that the PPV prices are exceptionally cheap, compared to the U.S. to garner that many viewers for a fairly mundane matchup.
If the British PPV price tag was in the vicinity of $60+, as it often is here, I question whether Froch-Groves could do 100,000.

I have to agree.I just do not see Jr. as a ppv fighter.Too each their own I guess.
I would not pay to see him.

It was $27 USD to order Froch-Groves II.

Golovkin is not a big seller. His last fight was in the StubHub Center in Carson.

And put that with Froch, who will sell out Wembley again for another 80k for the right opponent...
If Froch v Groves II did 900k buys in the UK at £20 a head, I can bet it would've still done 250k+ at a higher price(don't forget that the UK standard price will take years to catch up with the US, you can't flip that overnight). It might be hard for non-UK residents to understand how big that fight was over here. On mainstream media 24/7.
A massive amount of non-boxing fans suddenly became interested in the record breaking 80k sell-out at Wembley, especially after the first fight. It had a story, a tasty middle tussle and a grande finale to be observed by record numbers.
Froch v Chavez Jnr would sell out Wembley again and probably repeat the reported $36 million for Froch-Groves II. Maybe it's the stumbling block in talks, Carl wants Las Vegas but the money is in the UK.
Even if Carl does fight Chavez in Las Vegas, he has to be tempted at the figures on offer from Wembley to fight on afterwards.

If a Mexican guy managed to drop GGG and then the fight was prematurely stopped giving GGG a TKO victory, I bet a rematch would fill out a big stadium in California (of course if prices are comparable with Wembley ones).

I actually think that Froch via GGG could sell more than any of them vs Chavez. Chavez undermined his reputation with the first Vera fight and the fact that he hasn't had any good opposition in 2 years.

I think in the USA more people want to see Chavez get destroyed by Golovkin but I believe the Mexican fans want to see Froch vs Chavez in Mexico or in Carl's homeland. It only matters because back at home Froch brings in a huge crowd and in Mexico Chavez's name alone brings them all in to see it.

Froch would be the bigger fight right now and the more likely to happen, he brings in the European market, the british market and that's before you add in the WBA and IBF (if they don't strip him of it) world titles. Chavez is among the top of the division but he hasn't won any of the titles at this level yet, he's a big name, he just hasn't won a championship at this weight yet and I just think he's more likely to want that before going for fighting a dangerous undefeated challenger like Golovkin.
Golovkin is the current WBA super world champion, IBO and interim WBC, the way he is going I think unifying the middleweight division before moving up to super middleweight would make his name even bigger so he would be in no rush to take a fight at super middle weight unless it suited him.

The picked an arena that was too small. They added bleachers and standing room tickets and still sold over 9,300 tickets. The most ever for a boxing fight there.
You can't really judge how big a ticket seller he us until he's put in a venue he can't sell out & break records for can you?
