Nice little 6 rounder this on the Hall/Caballero card this Saturday.Blackwell talking about going there for the early knockout as well which I'm not sure will happen.All good publicity on mainstream TV which is prob why he's taken the fight.He's down to fight 2 weeks after on the Maxi nutrition knockout final at Bluewater,not sure of the opponent though.

There's a good piece on Boxing News today where hes on about Etches dodging him and being asked to fight at SMW for the Bursak rematch.Hopefully now hes with Hennessey he can get him into the picture a bit more from now on as there's no question this lad is avoided.

Anyone see what the fvck went on with Khomitsky & Stieglitz? He had the German down & it was called a slip, then the ref disqualifies him for--I believe--running out of tape in the corner.

Absolutely nothing wrong with provincial favouritism in Germany.

It will probably only show a few rounds or the finish if there is one. It's a shame, I doubt Budler will get any coverage either.

Im hoping they show the Budler fight too,he looked good last time out against Kokietgym,ive never seen Zhong before but i seen he's a former WBC Straweight champ,also fought for the WBC Flyweight title

Blackwell's fights a tough one to call and will probably go to the wire,dont know if its the ref or 3 scoring judges for 6 rounders over in MC,I'll edge Blackwell seeing as Khomitsky's had a fairly tough few fights in a row

Don't forget Khomitsky's last fight before this was at supermiddle against Stieglitz, and he was well on his way to winning it before the bizarre DQ.
It is was a big ask of Blackwell to beat him at relatively short notice.

The fight was suppose to be over 8 rounds but Golden Gloves changed it last minute to 6 rounds and Khominsky didnt want to fight over 8. There was an arguement about the rounds in the ring before the fight. Blackwell took most of the shots on the arms and gloves and started dominating with his jab. In the 6th Khominsky looked as though he was getting broken down especially after deliberately spitting his gum shield out not once but twice. Blackwell would of stopped him in the 7th. No one has caused that much damage to Khominsky in a long time.

Drawing with Khomitsky is definitely not a bad result. Like I said in the fight night thread I was surprised it was over 6. It would probably appear Khomitsky was a bit weight drained if he didn't want to go more than 6. As people say Khomitsky had Stieglitz all over the joint and also he beat Buglioni from first round to last. He's clearly well above anyone we have who is domestic class at S-middle and Middleweight.

Blackwell having had no amateur background is learning his trade the hard way, looks to have had no favours and taken any opportunity that has been offered a draw over 6 with Kohmitsky is a very good result and with the backing of Henessey and C5 I believe this kid can mix at the top level in 18/24 months provided he is kept active

If you are in doubt ask yourself why Mr Warren paid step aside money for BJS , why has Eubank turned down British title eliminator and Adam Etches team turned down Blackwells challenge ?

Prior to naming Kohmitsky there was talk of a Bursak rematch which I believe Bursak/his team refused the lad seems to have more interest in gaining experience,learning and improving than protecting a record and that is what I believe will prove the key to his success.

I'd say Wazza paid it because Billy had the Eubank fight lined up and has already beaten Nick.

The Blackwell v Khominsky fight was made at 75kg which was the weight Khominsky wanted it. Tale of the tape shows Blackwell is bigger than Khominsky.
Blackwell doing it the old fashioned way - they are calling him a throw back. Hes come along way since his fight with Murray and he is still very young (23 - 24 yrs). Now Hennessy is behind him I think this is a kid to watch

He`s a great prospect Mark,and it`s great to see that he`s still so enthusiastic despite having to do it the hard-way.
The draw at the weekend`s no disgrace at all either,anyone in the know realises what a tough test Khominsky is for anyone.
Blackwell has a lovely fluid style too,and that jab`s a real weapon when he plants it.
He`ll go far and get deserved exposure from now hopefully.
