Browne vs Welliver

Welliver is mediocre, but he sure has his fanboys. Got to give credit to his fans though; their talking Chauncey up so big gets me more psyched for the fight.

I'd like to see Browne win by KO. If I got to predict, I'll go with Browne by late round stoppage. Any predictions on this fight?

Well some people, even outside of kronkpride, would throw his name out there as having enough durability to test a contender's power. But he was stopped in round 5 by Billy Wright, and really didn't even have enough skill to beat Kyotaro Fujimoto, and has only fought one top 100 fighter in his entire career, which ended in stoppage. So even when they're simply implying that he would be a good opponent to take someone like Wilder into the late rounds, they're overrating him.

To be fair: he injured himself against Wright, was boxing with one arm for most of it.

As for Fujimoto - you can use by decision and still be a more skillful fighter. Surely Kevin Johnson is a more skillful boxer than Christian Hammer...

Welliver is winning this fight! He's too savvy and too sturdy for Browne to get any momentum going for him. And when it comes down to it Welliver is in better shape than Browne. Better cardio and a better overall athlete. Browne will slow and Welliver will add on as many rounds as Browne can go to his 400 straight HW rounds without going down streak. He got stopped to a seriously injured arm...Vitaly Klitschko anybody? And he got stopped by a bogus ref on his feet and fighting so an undefeated Olympic Gold Medalist would get an earlier end to a night he wasn't looking good on. In front of all the HW champs for the VK comeback card in Germany. McCall got stopped too...and so did Chuvalo. But Welliver nor those guys ever got put down to taste canvas. And Browne is not gonna make that happen either. Watch and see, Welliver will reel him in and get better and better every round. Then Briggs is getting his arse beat next.

A Welliiver win will be by far his biggest win of his career if he can pull it off. I give you credit as a fan, that you have me think a little bit about a fighter I otherwise wouldn't think about at all.

He's an overweight journeyman. But his insane persona, fact he's only been stopped once, and his 3 overbearing fans makes his step up fights slightly intriguing. The 4 guys you mentioned would destroy him. It would be interesting to see how long he'd last against them though.

I'd like to see Browne in with Joe Parker or Shannon Briggs.

That's a funny post

If Browne lost to Welliver he may as well retire. That said, as much as Welliver will spoil and annoy, he shouldn't give Browne too much trouble.

mark de mori is ranked by WBA

therfore im saying its a fight that will help browne get more ranking points.

im not saying mori is good, he is a boxer feasting off bums (but them who isnt nowadays to be fair)

but browne vs mori is a significant fight for both

Welliver isn't half the athlete Browne is, and is not as well conditioned either. I like Welliver and hope he does himself proud in this fight, but if he wins more than two rounds I'll be surprised.

Lots of bullshizit opinions in here. We will soon see who is right. And this aint my first rodeo backing Chauncy as a dark horse to shock the world. People gave me so much grief for talking up Chauncy and how he would become a serious contender. From off the radar and buried 300 deep in the boxrec rankings to #5 ranked in the world by both the WBC and WBO you arseholes. Who was right? How many arseholes here said he'd never be a contender? How many said I had no clue backing him for a run at the titles? How many said we'd never even get into the ballpark? We not only got in to the ballpark and title shot discussions we also held that seat for a good little run in the world rankings. Picked up titles all over the world. Signed tens of thousands of autographs for kids all over this planet. Top 5 ranked HW 4 Life! Quadruple Continental HW Champion 4 Life! If anybody can The Panda Man Can! Lucas Browne is going down and I will be back right after to tell all you fools I told you so. Get This Done Chauncy! You Can Take This Man Out!

Well considering you picked him to beat Sherman Williams, Kyotaro Fujimoto, and Bronco Billy, I'd say everyone else...

I'm more interested to see your excuse when he loses this time than I am for the actual fight.

The only bull opinion here is yours. He has never been a serious contender and he never will be a serious contender.

Welliver is 16/1. Browne is pretty bad. I might have a small punt on Chauncy. 16/1 for a tough guy like him against a limited guy like Browne is very long.

When has Chauncey ever been an underdog???? He's fought and won against nothing but slugs his entire career. He constantly loses when he fights D+ or C- competition.
