Nicholson had McCall in his corner







This was a four round rematch between Nicholson and Golota and it looked more like a tag session with 30 Oz gloves... Neither put weight on their shot but tried to make it look like a fight... a little like WWF kind of stuff... It was Golota's retirement from boxing party/card.

Hope they both made a few quid....seemed to be a fair few people there and it was a bit of an event!

Couple of thoughts......

Is a boxing seniors/legends division now viable? We seem to have more guys than ever who want to carry on and I'd rather they faced each other in some kind of meaningful/equal tournament than being served-up and spat-out by the young lions. Kind of surprised that the WBA and WBC - with their love for creating a new belt every week - have not devised something.

Second thought....entirely predicatable and mused on many times before, but what would have Golota done if his head had been screwed on straight? I still shake my head when I think of those fights with Bowe.
