Haven't read it for a few years now...and I read tons of boxing mags and books.

Last time I coughed-up the price I thought it was poor on all fronts....bad layout, weak coverage of the global scene and to be slightly harsh....the writing was very poor as well. Either too much opinion on stuff that did not matter and not enough on the issues that fans wanted to know about. Just very disappointing and expensive.....slightly living off it's rep as 'The Bible.'

I see it sitting there for weeks on end in my local Smiths and nobody seems to buy it...despite the fact that they still do a good front cover that stands out from all the wrestling and MMA mags that seem to fly off the shelf.

No, I hated it and stopped reading it about 20 years ago. It had one massive chip on its shoulder that mag.

It's always about three months out of date. Never understood that...

I regularly bought it years ago but haven't for a while.

Aside from what seems like an increasing amount of space dedicated to photos of card girls and women's boxing, neither of which interest me enough to add value to the magazine, there is too much overlap between information in the magazine and information I can find on the Internet for free. Moreover, one of the main reasons I used to purchase it was the fight reports, but now I can watch virtually any major bout online and read a description of it sometimes only minutes after it happened. I check the articles on the website occasionally, and they are regularly filled with poorly reasoned positions that make me wonder how those who offered them found employment as boxing scribes.

Read it in the shop cheaper!

It's not much fun.

My Dad buys me a subscription to it every year for Christmas, so I'm always pleased to see it come through the post. But the usual problems that everyone else mentions: months out of date previews for fights that have happened ages ago, and weirdly subjective journalism and favoring of certain fighters...

Dougie's mailbag makes me cringe too. But I guess for other people it's all good fun. He totally thought Mosley would beat Mayweather, and for years said Arreola had the beating of Haye. And I'll always remember he said "he can not like Paulie Mallinaggi?" and I thought "me. He's a whiny little sh*t, like a Shiatsu."
I've warmed to Paulie a bit since than like but I find it hard to take Dougie's opinion seriously.

Given the general feel of the mag, does that mean the belt has lost its kudos too?

Dougies an uber nerd but used to enjoy his stuff when he was an independent journalist at maxboxing.

Then he made the terrible decision to go to golden boy promotions ( AKA The Ring ) and now his nuts are kept in Oscar's desk he's lost all credibility

As has the ring, I used to LOVE that magazine
