Maloney has taken another 'celebrity' under his wing (this time for Sports Relief), unlike Gervais this time the celeb' has a bit of experience.

Sid Owen (Ricky Butcher) was a schoolboy amateur, he has a classic boxers nose, and I actually think he'll be alright. He's fighting somebody called Ben Fogle, you telly addicts may be able to tell me what his build etc is like because I don't know what he looks like.

Celebrities boxing match weighs in

Former EastEnder Sid Owen and posh presenter Ben Fogle have squared up for the launch of a celebrity boxing bout in aid of Sport Relief.

In what could be the greatest sporting mismatch ever, the pair will face each other in the ring live on TV.

Sid "The Snake" Owen, who played Ricky Butcher in the BBC soap, is a former amateur boxer. Former public school boy Ben "The Bear" Fogle, who found fame on reality show Castaway, has never raised his fists in his life and admits he is terrified of spoiling his looks by getting his nose broken.

They are undergoing six weeks of training for their three-round bout on July 10, which will be decided by a public vote.

The pair met for the weigh-in at the Sports Cafe in central London and Owen immediately set out to intimidate his opponent, almost knocking Fogle off his feet by giving him a hefty shove.

"I have to say he's quite strong," said a nervous Fogle.

Owen said the boxing bout would be a walkover. "He's not going to hurt me," he boasted. "We both want to win but I know I will. There's already talk of me turning pro because I'm such a big hitter."

Owen is being coached by legendary trainer Frank Maloney, who said Fogle would be no competition.

So you've got one guy who wants to fight and one that doesn't.

Great idea.

"legendary trainer Frank Maloney" - in his own living room maybe (only joking Frank).

I'll get my prediction in early: Owen by a brutal KO that sickens the nation. Fogle will be stretchered out and the 'dangers of boxing' will become headline news. :-?

Fogle is a posh rugger-bugger who was on that programme where they got abandoned on an island and argued with eachother for a year, castaway was it?

He's about as intimidating as a dead halibut.

OK, I've done a bit more research (I'd watch anything fight, apart from Audley :D ) and whilst you are right James, Ben is posh, he looks to have a good build, nice long arms and I would guess not bad strength.

Providing whoever is training him solely concentrates on getting him to throw nothing but jabs and straight right hads, aswell as carrying his hands high, he may have a chance. Some posh people can fight with the best of them.

I now have photo's of the gladiators:

Ben Foggle - Great body structure,

Sid Owen - Experienced, should win early, but who knows?

One thing Sid Owen has going against him, is years of sustained cocaine and pill abuse, I've seen him in the flesh gurning his tits off at the Pop bar before.

Fogle is probably fitter, but he just doesn't have the mindset of a warrior.

My guess is that both of them flail away at one another like two asthmatic gibbons wielding kippers, and eventually Rickeee gets knackered and they hug eachother for the last two minutes.

Fogle earned his fame by crying on 'Castaway' every fornicating five minutes. 'Oh, the poor fish,' he would wail, just before tucking into the latest catch.

A nice bloke, housewives favourite, but should get mullahed. If RIIIICCCKKKEEE is off the sniff that is!
