A recent argument or debate, between myself & Alp made me think why not put the fight to the test?

I'm sure alot of us don't go back and watch classic fights or historic bouts all the time. We go by our memories, and go by what others have written and over time our perceptions change or grow fuzzy in time. So, its just best to look back and re-score fights for the hell of it. If anything else, for sh!ts and giggles.

Foreman 45-1 (42) Young 20-5-2 (7)

Round One: Even; Foreman warned for rabbit punches

Round Two: Foreman; was warned more

Round Three: Young; Foreman had a point taken away, but otherwise was leading the round

Round Four: Foreman; Foreman being warned again/ seems the tactic of Young to complain to break up Foreman's momentum in the ring whenever he starts loading out punches on Young

Cosell says "Its so hard to judge a Jimmy Young fight... but would give him a slight edge over Foreman," but from my own scores--- and the point deduction--- would say it is an EVEN contest up to this point. Had the deduction not occured, would of given Foreman the slight lead.

Round Five: Even; neither man really gaining much of an advantage and Foreman allows Young to contine to clinch him.

Its noticeable at the beginning of the round that Foreman is sweating profusely and is breathing heavy. Whether this is because he unloaded alot of power punches, and missing shots, or because of the heat, or both, is up for speculation. Must never be forgotten that Foreman would retire after this fight.

Round Six: Young; Foreman appears to be tiring, but still aggressive.

Round Seven: Foreman; HUGE ROUND for George as he beat Young from pillar to post for 90% of the round, but man oh man the heart and toughness and BALLS of Young coming back and firing

Round Eight: Young; Foreman is tired, and Young is so slick and fast countering Foreman much as he can. Showing no fear of Foreman.

Cosell asks his co-host his unofficial scorecard, and he responds that he has Young ahead, because he feels Young wont the last two rounds--- which is incredible to my ears, because in 7 Foreman was in complete control. In my eyes, Young is slightly ahead at this point by one round.

Round Nine: Young; Foreman seems to be trying to pace himself though.

Round Ten: Foreman; Foreman coming out the aggressor and if one notices it appears Foreman is no longer sweating. Young comes back with mini combinations, few and far between. Very sloppy round.

Round Eleven: Young; Foreman is obviously tired, and in the early stages of dehydration.

Round Twelve: Young; Foreman was knocked down (Cosell said he thought it was a slip)

Personal Score Card (Round System): Foreman 4 rounds, Young 6, Even 2

Had the referee not of deducted the point, Foreman would of won 5 rounds... and even if the referee didnt count a knockdown in the last round, Young still would of won the round... 6-5-2...
