..... which after dinner speakers are worth seeing, always wanted to attend
but never have.I notice Thomas he arms has recently
doing the rounds and Duran is always at it. Any recommendations?

Sugar Ray Leonard was my favourite. I've met pretty much everyone on the dinner circuit, including Duran, Hagler, Hearns, Tyson, Roy Jones, Benn, Eubank, Bruno, Khan, Hatton, McGuigan, Collins, Calzaghe, Barrera, Henry Cooper, Lamotta, Joe Frazier, Lennox, Holmes and even Ali (but that was more of a photo opportunity due to his illness), etc. Yes I'm name dropping!

Leonard had a few great stories to tell and he also had a very good sense of humour.

Hatton can work a crowd.

I didn't rate hatton. He just told the same tired jokes you've all heard in a million interviews over the years. Snap crackle and pop, Guinness, can't walk past a chippy......yawn.

He did, but he also mixed it up a bit.

Sugar Ray is back March 2015.
Hearns tour starts next week.
Just done a dinner last week with Froch and Duran last month.
Been on or organised them all.
Frazier and Marvis was the best for me followed by Ken Norton but sadly no longer with us.
We'd arranged for Rubin Carter to come a few months before his passing but sadly he was too ill to travel.
Foreman is due over in 2015.
I was less than keen on Khan until the dinner happened - but he was spot on so glad to have been proven wrong.
Worst recently was Holyfield. Boring.

Forgot - Groves was a good laugh between the two Froch fights.

How's that work.is it a set price per item? Shocking that pal!!

Some will sign anything and everything free - some will not sign at all - and some it depends whether it's the wrong time of the month.
Some fall in the middle and want paying.

They say you shouldn't meet your hero's, (even though I've met a few of them myself) but I would love to meet LaMotte out of all them you mentioned. Proper old skool.

I would say Bruno. Some of his childish jokes/comments were a bit too explicit for my liking. There were children in attendance.

I forgot to say, one of my other favourites was Barry McGuigan. He sang a few songs with his band when he came to a Birmingham dinner show. He was surprisingly good (as a singer and during his dinner interview)

Barrera I liked.
Earnie Shavers back in the early2000's when he first came to UK.
He's just been back and toured with Joe Bugner and Richard Dunn.
Jake La Motta has done a few tours but he's really getting on now.
Also did a great dinner here in Sheffield a year ago with Rhodes Nelson Brook and Herol.
I'm really looking forward to 21 November - the 50th birthday of Wincobank and a special tribute night to Brendan. The old school will be out in force.

We've got Big Frank in a fortnight. He best be on good behaviour!

It will be 50% travellers. They get a bit funny over things like that. I'm sure Frank won't be bothered...

mate of mine went to see holyfield a bit back said he was a bit boring but his minders were a nightmare telling people to eff off when they dared ask for a photo.

Trouble with these nights is you go expecting to see your heroes as they were in their prime.

Jake LaMotta is 94 years old remember.

When i saw him he sat in a wheelchair on the stage with his daughter answering the questions cos Jake is virtually deaf.
