Looked very similar KO to Anthony Mundine's KO in Germany against Ottke

Are you asking if one of Australia's top prospects took a dive against an unknown kickboxer?

Hooper went into the fight like it was a sparring session.

Temple shot. They can bring anyone undone.
Don't let powdrills boxrec record fool you. He has delivered some devastating KOs in other forms of fighting.
Hooper has a very lazy Jab. IMO

Whoa wasn't meant for it to be taken as a conspiracy. Just surprised is all. Traditionally this doesnt happen to a top prospect , normally we send em overseas with a 20 nil record before they are returned on their back. This is probably the best thing that could have happened to Damian. I think he has learned a very timely lesson.

The bout only lasted 21 seconds, one of the quickest of recent times.

I can remember Tony Mundine only lasting 50 odd seconds when taking on a certain Luis Rodríguez, and he bounced back. So hopefully Damian will get back in the saddle.

In a recent interview in Aus-Boxing, Damian mentioned:
As for Powdrill, 30, Hooper believes the talented kickboxer isn’t giving him the credit he deserves.

“I think he (Powdrill) is taking me too lightly. Yes, he is very experienced kickboxer but this is boxing. And it’s a different what he’s used to. I can’t wait to fight him as he’s keen and willing to fight so it should be a good fight,”
The full Aus-Boxing article is well worth a read in the context of his recent loss and future plans:

The lesson being he hasn't got the chin for the pro game.

Tony Mundine bounced back from a number of early KOs. Getting stopped early once isn't necessarily career defining.

That shot would have dropped plenty of fighters. Trick is not to get hit like that.

i was surprise when i heard Damien was fighting Rob. Rob is carrying a bit of form and Damien has shown he could be hit. Howvere Damien was rightfully the heavy favourite. Rob has heavy hands and the punch was a peach.

Hardly. I've lived in Oz nearly 5 years. Just the AU boxing scene is very dead now.

It's certainly not booming but I wouldn't say it was dead.

Well flatlining at least. There's hardly any boxing on Australian tv and no interest in boxing events. The fights that generally go ahead are all on non-televised, small hall style bills. It's sad.

I didn't think he'd lose like this so quickly, but warning signs were there with him being down hard before against a fairly low-level opponent. Also, someone said that such a shot would've stopped anyone, but I have doubts about that; Hooper's reaction makes it easy to depict that as a monster shot, but if a fighter has a poor chin they tend to be hurt more easily and seriously than most fighters are.

It is probably about where it was 5 years ago. Only we had a blip for the better in the middle that has just ended.

Danny Green was getting some coverage when he had his run at cruiserweight. Purely because he looked good beating Roy Jones really. It seemed far more interesting to the public than anything Mundine did, although Geale v Mundine was hyped reasonably. It just looks pretty bleak now. Some people have mentioned Jeff Horn a few times, but I'm just thinking he'll be exposed as soon as he steps up.
