If chisora loses will he become the heavyweight gatekeeper ?

Or does he still have a chance of becoming world champion one day ?
If fury loses i'm sure he can be rebuilt.
Chisora for me falls into that nearly man category ! His fought the best and done well against them but can he go any further or will he just be labeled the new gatekeeper and a guy up and coming fighters might take a risk on because of his lack in power ?

I think he already is a gatekeeper.

I think he will lose more clearly than their first fight - despite being about 3 stone and in better shape.

In fact I think he will lose by stoppage BECAUSE he is 3 stone lighter.

I really like and support both fighters and wish them well.

But I think Fury will win this quite easily. Again.

I feel the same way. Chisora' punch resistance doesnt seem as good at this lighter weight and he really could do with being heavy against a fighter as being as Fury.

Interesting fight. Fury might just the one who has been protected. They could both go in this fight quite easily. Chisora could be one of those almost good enough fighters who keeps fighting into his 40s.

What do you mean still? Did he have a chance anyway?

I think people slightly overrate Chisora based on one above-expectations performance against a Klitschko. Because nobody was expecting him to give Colonel Klit a decent fight, they were impressed when he went the distance. What else has he done other than that to show that he's any kind of World Champion elect? Lost an exciting fight against Haye?

Well giving vitali a pretty tough fight has to count for something right ?
Getting robbed against helenius, malick Scott looked for a way out and yer David haye was feeling the pace until he stopped him. His got much further than most on here probably thought.
But now it's crunch time, if he wins who knows, wladimir next summer ? Maybe the winner of stevern or wilder ? If he loses, David price or AJ if his lucky

Frank will use him as Bait for a Joshua Fight if he loses again
or go down the same route as Josh to try and force the fight

wont ever happen though anytime soon if ever.

Chisora is a really good fighter but his stars would have to line up and then some to ever get a piece of a big belt. If you can beat him convincingly you're ready for a title shot, if you can't, you aren't.

Who has he been a gatekeeper for so far? Haye was a publicity money maker, Vitali was a world title fight and Helenus was a 50/50 that I thought he won clearly. The 1st Fury fights was a 50/50 title fight. He hasn't been a gatekeeper for anyone at all. No-one has beaten him to achieve greater things, unlike someone like Micky Ward. He's only lost at world level really and everyone just below (Scott, Johnson) he's beat

Astonished that people think fat somehow enhances athletic performance. If Chisora is KOd it will be down to the lasting damage of David Haye's heavy fists, rather than because Del Boy got into good shape this time.

It increases his sporting chance of not getting stopped I think.

As at 3 stones lighter, and in shape, he is basically a heavyweight and Fury is a super heavyweight.

Spot on; here's already there.

The only way I can see him winning an alphabet title is if Wladimir & the rest of the top 10 HWs all die.

I think the opposite.

I don't rate Chisora (or Fury for that matter) & one of my main criticisms of him has been his refusal to come in at a decent weight.

He has been fighting fat for for too long & it's right that he has now finally realised that getting into shape is a prerequisite for a professional boxer.

I believe that the fact that he is now taking his training seriously will serve him well against Fury & I can't see the light fisted Fury knocking him out.

If Chisora is a realistic heavyweight contender, then lets place Haye in the Lewis, Ali and Holmes bracket - cos he pummeled him.

If he loses badly......with Fury busting him up over 12 rounds and making it look easy or stopping him early then it does not look good for Del Boy and he might find himself becoming the name of choice for the next generation.

His record is already a wee bit scratchy but he has retained crediblity because he was a good European champion and he got robbed against Helenuis, fronted-up to Vitali far, far better than most and the first Fury loss was marked-down to complacency...rather than a lack of ability.

But a bad/comprehensive loss to Tyson and a 20-5 record would potentially shove him back into gatekeeping territory.

Personally speaking, if Del Boy loses this one in a certain way I am not so certain that he will opt to rebuild or face every young Turk that's offered to him. He's a strong-willed, intelligent and slightly eccentric guy....so I could see him just calling it day and investing his time in his other business interests. If the call to fight Joshua comes a bit further down the line....then he might take it.

Where the fornicate is this '3 stones' guff coming from?

Chisora was 17 stone 3 against Vitali Klitschko. He's coming in for this fight at around 17-17.2. Yep, 3 pounds lighter at most.

His heaviest fighting weight was 18 stone 9 against Fury. So he'll be a stone and a half lighter than his heaviest ever weight - which we know had him horribly out of shape.

Based on that fight, it baffles me that people think that Chisora is a world class heavyweight, and that Haye is a mediocre one.

i would describe Chisora as Durable , the way haye took him out was very impressive

i expect Fury to to win quite comfortable with Del boy doing the usual Joe Frazier Gaurd but without the punches to follow.

if fury isnt switched on and is clowning around then it will be a close decision win for Fury.

with the fury fight coming up I see it going in Fury's favour, reach and size are a factor but then you think he has been training for this bout a long time and for Haye before that so his skills must have improved.

Chisora is at the level where he can compete for British - European - commonwealth titles tomorrow, if he wanted but its as we saw in the Vitali fight he isn't ready for a world title and against the new line up of contenders ready to take over after Wladimir retires (Pulev, Povetkin, Fury, Wilder , Ruiz jr., Perez, Arreola) I don't see him being able to get his hands on a world title, that is unless his manager and promoter make some very clever decisions on his behalf.

It comes from this week's press conference where both Don Charles and W.a.rren said he was '3 stones lighter' :TU:
