career than Wladimir Klitschko? There's a lot of Wlad critics out there because of the style of which he fights and also the excessive holding and such at times but i'm curious, do you you believe Joshua will go on to be a better and more successful fighter?

Could not you compare him to Joe Louis. Success like Klitscko is one in generation. Obviously odds are against that for any young fighter.

The reason I made the comparison is there's a lot of people that dont like Wladimir but are very high on Joshua so I was curious.

It all depends on your definition of 'successful'.

I was a big fan of both Klitschkos (as well as Mayweather & Hopkins) but became disillusioned the longer they stayed about. Whether that's down to me being old or them being cynical businessmen I do not know.

I remember Wlad at the same stage as Joshua & he seemed a better prospect but I am always guarded when it comes to British prospects.

Both Klit brothers are in the 10-30 region of all time heavies, in my humble opinion, and I don;t see Anthiny being anywhere near that. Yet. But time will tell & I truly truly hope he ends up better than anyone.

I don't really see why not. He's probably got more physical and technical talent, it's all about how he applies it. Wladimir has spent 20 years putting vast amounts of sweat and considerable intelligence into achieving no.1 status. That isn't easy to replicate for a laid-back lad from Watford, but he's capable if the desire's there.

Probably not. I am a Joshua fan and nothing is set in stone yet, although I think he has shown enough to suggest he can go very far ( for what its worth, Price didn't look half as exciting at the same stage imo, and he is someone people usually bring up in this case )

I would fully expect Wlad of Atlanta 96 to beat Joshua of 2012. I also think in the coming years we will see a higher level of competition than what Wlad has had to deal with during his career, meaning it will be harder to dominate as Wlad has.

You think? Once Wlad retires I can see the division being really barren to be honest! Who are the top talents coming up at the moment that can be elite? I struggle to see them at the moment.

No, he'll be found wanting at world level imo.

I think the question is, would he be able to comeback like Klit has after 3 devastating losses? Probably not.

I saw Joshua boxing the other night on KOTV, first time I've seen him fight. Must have been his last fight.
He's a thinker in the ring and pretty economical with his shots, which I liked. Keeps a nice guard, however, if he wasn't boxing at one one the weight extremities, I don't think most boxing fans would have heard about him.
However he is boxing at Heavyweight, so I guess his comparative merits only count against men his own size. I'd like to see him improve his footwork. It's a bit far-fetched to be mentioning him in the same breath as Wladimir Klitschko this early.

At the moment I have no idea if he will go on to be more successful than David Price tbh. Based on facts.

Too early to say really, but I think so. I'm a huge fan of Joshua. I think he'll dominate the barren landscape like Wlad has. I think he has more to his game than Mr Jab 'n' Grab and will prove it, although the competition will be the usual slew of tough but boring eastern Euros and the odd hyped US guy who turns out to be crap.

i watched Kubrat Pulev doing some bag work on KOTV this week. Looks shorter and slower than you know who. I expect more of the same. I'm a bit surprised by the dearth of big lads giving the sport a go, when you consider the HW title was once the richest ticket in sport.
Apparently Fury has called out Joshua, if that fight happened in 2015 who would win? I've seen only very little of Joshua but I believe he has the composure and the smarts to get Fury out of there - experience/ stamina though, possibly not yet.

I think he'll do well.

But I do fear the wheels may have to come off first, as they did with Lennox and Wlad, before they realise taking a heavyweight to the top requires a world class trainer with experience of heavyweights.

Joshua would need to 'beat everyone they put in front of him' and not get stopped three times and knocked down 10+, and show a better punch artillery, chin, and skills. He's already proved two of these IMO.
