I think Groves has a little bit of a chip on his shoulder after losing those two fights against Froch.
Groves needs to focus on getting back on track properly and not looking past his next opponent and thinking about a fight that is not going to happen (vs Froch).

Howard Foster messed up big time in the first bout so Groves got a chance for revenge - and failed.
Love both fighters but you've had your shot George. Focus on everything else & forget about Carl - who has one fight left (if that).
I feel sorry for Froch in that the Chavez fight doesn't look like it's going to be made either. Is a fight against Anthony Dirrell not big enough yet?

Dirrell would a great fight but its getting the biggest market behind the fight chavez - latin American and Mexican market, Froch - British and European market.
that said what about Froch vs. Kessler 3 ? both have a win over the other, a decider in Vegas would be a neutral venue and who doesn't love a trilogy decider and having the full European market and American market behind this fight.

Froch vs Groves III? It won't happen. Nevertheless, fair play to George for wanting the fight after what happened before. Great attitude and self-belief.

Why do people keep talking about Froch v Kessler III - Kessler hasn't fought since he lost to Froch, has no fights scheduled, and appears to be to all intents and purposes - retired. How is that a compelling fight?
Groves has lost two in a row - the first a slightly premature stoppage, the second - he got his arse kicked big time - it's not a rubber match, Froch is 2 and 0. So why have a 3rd fight? Groves needs to shut up about Froch, and get on with his own career.
Froch v Hopkins is far more compelling - and I think of the fights posited, the one that is most feasible - Golovkin and Froch probably won't happen, Golovkin isn't a big enough name yet.
If Froch doesn't get a really meaningful fight

The unfortunate thing is that it really doesn't have to be this way. In a way, George was lucky to get a chance to fight Froch before Carl departed the sport for good. If Froch doesn't get his Vegas fight he will retire, and George doesn't need to feel threatened by The Cobra ever again or see him as a potential rival. Froch has earned his money, won his World Titles - his path is at it's conclusion or near enough to it (depending on Chavez)
George is in the exact opposite position. He's a young, talented fighter who has pedigree and handed a scare to one of the greatest Super Middleweights of all time. He has a lot to be proud of, not to mention that he recently acquired the European Title (probably the best second-tier belt out there).
If Groves lets go of this and refocuses he could position himself in to the right place to fight for one of Froch's vacant titles. But he does need to let this go, it's helping no-one and only hindering himself.

Groves needs to move on now and put the Froch fights to bed. I think the problem is he truly believes he deserves a third fight and was not only robbed in the first fight but in the second too. Every time I hear him talk about the second fight its like he was putting on a clinic and Froch closed his eyes and got lucky with one random punch. He still believes he is a level above Froch and fate conspired against him and in his mind beating Froch would wipe those first fights off his ledger.

I admire Groves' ambition, but he is a tad deluded if he thinks that anybody wants to see him in with Froch again.
He couldn't even beat Froch when Carl endured his worst ever night in the ring & then lost comprehensively in an immediate rematch when Froch's mojo returned, so what makes him think he'd have a chance in 2015?
His only chance is if Froch grows old, which is entirely possible as Froch is already in his 38th year & isn't going to get any better.

The first stoppage was bullshit. The second fight was very close until one punch ended it. They were both good fights, but I think you don't get another chance after the way the last fight ended.
However, I'm not sure Groves will be champion at 168 in the near future. He better hope that Andre Dirrell doesn't scoop up that WBO strap from Arthur Abraham because that's the only 168 pound champion I see him beating, an even that's not a sure thing.

The problem is… why would the general public be intrigued to see Carl fight an opponent he has beaten twice already? It doesn’t make sense from a current prestige, legacy or a commercial perspective.
I think they're guaranteed to put on a good fight with a lot of power punches that connect; that'll always get me to watch.
