I dont think it was Marquez who was asking for the fight so not sure how the pouncing comes into play.

I think Brook would have a good chance of beating Marquez assuming no significant regression from the injury.

Hopefully he recovers quickly and can return to the ring fairly soon. I don't want to see him stagnate again after finally breaking through.

I agree. Aside from Brook being talented himself, he's a really big welterweight and i'd imagine Marquez (even the pumped up version) would be pretty small next to him in the ring.

Yeah Brook looks very solid. Big, quick, punches hard, accurate, seems to have a decent chin. The main question mark is over his stamina but that seemed fine against Porter. I think Brook beats a lot of the top WWs bar Floyd, possibly Manny and Bradley / Thurman would be interesting fights.
