Gennady Golovkin has burst onto the boxing scene knocking out 90% of all opposition he has faced so far. While fans seem to believe the hype surrounding Golovkin am not so sure, In my eyes he remains Untried, Unproven, & Untested. After watching his past6 fights I feel as though he has been put in the undersized opponents, who in my opinion, do not deserve to be in the ring against Golovkin.
the past 6 fighters he has faced is Daniel Geale, Osumanu Adama, Curtis Stevens, Matthew Macklin, and Nobuhiro Ishida and rubio All of them have suffered 3 or more defeats, with Ishida suffering 9 losses in my eyes the bst he has faced is rubio an was impressive but rubio had been stopped 3 times so it wasnt a Suprise tht ggg beat him easy my point is he hasn't fought a elite fighter in the pro ranks yet.with Golovkin’s style a have seen incredible punching power but hiz head movement isint the bst an has been caught with good counters by Geale and Stevens. I’ve also noticed Golovkin has slow footwork and to me, an easy target for a good boxer with good ring generalship. Now I do not at all hate Golovkin or think he is a bad fighter. I think he is just an Unproven fighter, thts why ad like to see him take on the likes of Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, Canelo, Miguel Cotto, Taylor, dirrell an ward I feel as though Andre Ward would be the biggest test of Golovkin’s career and I think Andre Ward would win a pts decision It would be interesting to see how Golovkin handles a guy with good movement an speed guys he isn’t used to fighting. Golovkin has a great future ahead of him, but in my opinion unless he faces and defeats a slick boxer like Andre Ward, he cant be mentioned with the likes of hagler an monson

Spose we will just have to wait and see he's off to a good start lets hope theres some big names in his future, remember Hopkins lost his début, lost his first title shot and then drew his second and look at his career now.

I've been on the GGG train for a long time, but even I'm shaking my head at how over the top people are rating him based on his record so far.
I wish he was around in the days of Pavlik , Taylor, Miranda, Abraham at their peak about 2007.
Right now, the rest of the 160lb division is very feeble indeed.
PS - Andrade is a light-middle 154lb.

Golovkin impresses in the way he beats his opponents, I don't think he's a flash in the pan and I imagine when he does get the other top men he'll do really well; he has the power and technique to keep them all very wary.

Problem for him will be no career defining fights. Hagler had Hearns, Leonard had Hearns, Duran, Robinson had LaMotta, Graziano, Turpin etc Ali had Frazier, Liston, Foreman
There arent any other "great" fighters out there at his weight so it is going to be tough for him.

He will have to step up (or down) to get the fights that define him. Time will tell, but he does need an Elite Fight very soon.

He's already the greatest of all time! He is so amazing!

He's definitely going to have to go up to super middle to get the fights that will define him
I'd fancy him against Froch / Chavez Jr
Not so sure about Ward but that would be an intriguing fight

It's incredible how hyped he is, on scant achievement.
He's beaten nobody of note yet, and people talk about him going up to 168 and nost just beating, but battering Ward - which is frankly, amusing, based on current reality. He's yet to face an elite level fighter, whereas Ward has beaten Froch, Kessler, Dawson and Abraham, all of them with ease, in fact Allan green, is probably as good as anyone GGG has faced, and green didn't win a single round against Ward.

He's clearly a talented fighter but his resume doesn't afford him the level of adulation he receives in my opinion. The idea of him moving up and hammering battle tested fighters like Froch/Ward is slightly amusing, he may beat them but he's been in nowhere near the level they have and to suggest they're easy fights for him is absurd. I'd love Froch to take him deep and drown him.

I think we'll have a better idea about how good he really is after the Murray fight
If he walks through him i think it will be fair to say he's a bit better than decent

It's debatable as to whether Murray is any better than Geale or the version of Macklin that GGG beat. I think GGG stops him in 7 but wouldn't be at all surprised if its much earlier. Not sure a dominant win over Murray tells us anything new about GGG.

Of course he can ...... But wouldn't it be worth seeing what he's done once his career is near the end !
If I'd have been judging Carl Froch at this stage I would have made a proper mug of myself but delighted to have been proven totally wrong.

Well a lot on here rate Murray highly se let's see what happens.
Personally I think if Murray sees round 7 he's done great.

Same here around the time Froch fought Rueben Grownwald I thought he'd get hammered against the best. He's done amazing.

Yeah, when Carl was on the way up, his lack of defence and head movement, suggested he was going to get his ass whooped somewhere down the line - but then nobody could have predicted his almost superhuman toughness.

No - off course if he is a freak he can, but I feel he is already at a bit of an age. He might only have 3 or so years left at the top (maybe even less).
Yes, if he goes on till he's forty and wins world titles at Super Middle and Light heavy then he will go down as an all time great, but we don't know enough about him to say he can carry his power and chin at the higher weights.
Even if he beats Alvarez, Pacquiao and Mayweather at Middleweight - we can question everything about those three now. Alvarez has been exposed and the other two are natural Welters who are getting on.... same with Cotto.
Even if he beats Ward clearly, I don't think one defining win makes him an all time great. Is Ricky Hatton an all time great?

He looks like a fantastic fighter. I'd rather see the Middleweight champion stay a middleweight. It's traditionally been the blue ribbon division of the sport.
I hope he just stays there and takes on all-comers. Otherwise there will just be more catchweight nonsense.
So far he's done very well against decent opposition. He's perfect the sport. Not an indiot and fights in an exciting fashion.

Hagler did ok staying as a career middleweight.
Why do people feel that a fighter must move up divisions to prove greatness? Sometimes a guy is just bang on his optimum fighting weight and any lighter would be drained, heavier too slow or not quite strong enough.

There's not much left to conquer at Middler so of course he's gonna move up - chasing fights and the brass.
There were enough names around in the Hagler era meaning he didnt need to chase fights - they came to him.
