Fair bit of discussion in this fight last night.

After hearing about Wlad wanting to fight in America this is perfect as Fury is entertaining and can sell a fight.


What do we think of the furious ones chances ?

Think fury gets exposed, wlad would probably take his time and end matters around the 10th

I think that if Fury tried to put it on Wlad, he'd get iced fairly quickly.

Fury doesn't really have much pop, and he doesn't hold a shot brilliantly either - it would be a total mismatch.

Wlad within 6 i think. Probably within 4.

This should be the most one-sided poll in Boxrec history. Fury would be absolutely destroyed - probably within the first 2 minutes if Klitschko was in the mood.

Agree with that, Wlad ruins him.

Don't think Fury has the footwork to avoid Wlad either, I think that even if he went into defensive mode, he'd still get done inside the distance. Haye had good enough movement to stay out of trouble for 12 rounds, cannot see Fury pulling the same trick.

Wlad rarely goes for it early. Last night was the most aggressive I've seen him in years. If he fought Fury I'd expect him to do it cautiously - jab and grab. Probably ends around the 9th.

They've either pressed the wrong button or they've never seen Fury fight before.

I agree probably in the first four rounds if wlad decides he wants it finished that quick. Fury doesnt have the power in his arsenal to use it as a weapon. I dont think theres anybody out there thats going to bother wlad anytime soon.

Fury's chin is crap though so even if Wlad fought cautiously id still expect him to get knocked out when the first significant shot landed. Pulev has a good chin and he was flattened.

Chisora has always had a good chin though (well better when he was heavier actually) so i could always see him lasting longer atleast. Also Wlad is bigger puncher than Vitali according to Chris Byrd who fought them both.

Yes, unless he gets old overnight and his reflexes go, - it's possible, but he doesnt' rely on his reflexes that much, more his timing and judgement of distance.

agreed both times fury went down was due to his awful foot work. reminds me of when people said lennox lewis had a poor chin, i always thought he had a iron one.

Yes it is. Fury's a 6'8 Heavy who's been put down heavily by a career-long Cruiser, not to mention his other knockdowns against less than stellar opposition. The fact that he was swerved swiftly away from Price suggests that his camp know it too.

Fury has been knocked down twice in his entire professional and amateur career. Both times he got up and knocked the opponent out ice cold!




A bad chin is like David Price where you get tapped on the ear and do a jelly leg walk and the ref waves it off.


Fury is certainly over confident and needs to shore up his defence. But his chin is just fine.

His last fight was vs Joey Abell who put Pulev on his backside once again. Fury was clowning around and knocked Abell down FIVE times without going down himself.

Wlad could deal with Fury pretty easily. I would like to see Tyson have a go and throw shots at Wlad, go out on his shield.

Pulev tripped over Abell's leg. I remember watching it. It wasnt a proper knockdown.

I'd expect Wlad to take him out, but Tyson does have a sizeable height advantage on Wlad and for a big lad, he's not bad on the inside, especially compared to Wlad. Klitchko any time he wants. He could have had Pulev out of there inside a round last night, he carried him. Did the exact same to Lepai.

Wlad is in far better nick than Fury, he is a much better athlete and has far more discipline in his training, I have no doubt that he is much physically stronger than Fury. Wlad would be able to handle him in the clinches.

Pulev is a more powerfully built man than Fury, and Wlad had no trouble manhandling him.

As big as Fury is, he's not built like a tank, he is broad shouldered, but he has very spindly legs for such a big man. That is evidenced by the fact that despite his size, he weighs 260 when in shape, and he could probably shed quite a bit more spare flesh.

It would of course present an interesting challenge for Wlad to face someone bigger than him, with a bigger reach, but Tyson doesn't really use his height and reach all that well, he's not a great outside fighter. Tyson would really have to try and use that jab as never before to make a fight of it.

Still, I reckon he will at least have a go, and that's a good thing.
