It is Jordy McCrory as far as I know, good sparring hopefully get down again soon mate.

Mikey Towell might have to wait until Matty fights Craig first!! We are just waiting for dates to get this fight sorted out for in Aberdeen.

Darren would box Michael Roberts tomorrow if he could make the Featherweight limit but I see Michael Roberts at Super featherweight, maybe a fight for Ronnie for the Scottish title or a British Eliminator? I know for a fact that they wouldn't just take it as a fight without something on the line!!

Also Jordy McCorry has already beat Richard Barclay for the Scottish Lightweight Title.

Seemingly first fight Mcrory shouldn't have won so would like to see rematch, roberts will not fight ronnie, that's a cert, I kinda like roberts style but he's not a boy and his an strength ain't there, similar to slowry, very technical but if your opponent don't respect your power there gonna walk though you, I'm just a fan mate and say it as I would like to see, you will know more than me regarding inside stuff with more on the line but just seems a cop out saying nothing on the line, realistically not everyone can make it to a title fight, for me ronnie v craig evans 10 rounder no belt , way it should be testing yourself,

From a fans point of view you are absolutely correct mate, I would be happy for Ronnie or Darren to fight Michael at any time with or without anything on the line, but i know for a fact that Michael Roberts side wouldn't take the fight with Ronnie without something on the line. (This goes back to before i was involved with Ronnie and things that have been said about sparring or Michael himself. You probably know more than me) It's not just about fighter A vs Fighter B boxing but more that pro boxing career is a short one and everything has to add up in the Risk/Reward area.

1. Would i take a risky fight for one of my fighters in a tune up or a meaningless fight when there is a bigger fight on the horizon?
2. Is the money on offer worthwhile for my fighter taking the risk?
3. Would the reward of fighting a risky fighter improve my fighters rating or his chances of fighting for a title?

If I was in charge of your career wouldn't you like me to weigh up the risk/reward of a fight to help further your career, prospects for fighting for titles and also the amount of money you would make for your fights during your short career?

Ronnie vs Craig Evans is a great match but was scheduled for 8 rounds then upped to 10. Imo all of the risk falls on Craig Evans side of things and the rewards on Ronnie's side.

1. All of the pressure is on the shoulders of Craig Evans, he's undefeated and highly regarded
2. It's his promoters show and Ronnie has been picked as an opponent they think they can beat.

On the flip side for Ronnie

1. After his narrow loss to Troy James he wins he is right back in the mix for getting another eliminator
2. He is getting a good purse
3. There is no pressure whatsoever on him to perform

I personally think Ronnie can beat Craig and I'm sure their team will feel the same but this fight is happening because all the things add up in the business sense as well as the boxing sense.


I'm not saying that i agree that some of these fights only happen when there is something on the line but I have been involved for a while now and understand the reasoning why it isn't easy to get the fights on even when both boxers want the fight to happen!!

You speaking about the lad Ally Black that was sparring Ronnie? If so I would like to see that fight but I'd like to see Ally get some fights under his belt, he is quick and strong and Jordy can be outboxed.

Yes David, Ss you seen Ally is punching fast and hard and putting his shot together excellently for a guy with only four fights, plus he's a super fight young man who looks after himself well.
