Is Direll with Haymon ?

If so I don't fancy Degals chances against Andre Direll in America.

Saw him v Biosse who took Callum Smith 10 rounds absolutely destroyed him. Be such a waste of talent not to pick up a world title much better than his younger brother

Ive been impressed with Andre Dirrell's power in the few fights he's had since the Abraham DQ,granted he's dropped down a level but theres been spite in his punches and so far theres been nothing to suggest he's a broken fighter,,,,,,so far


Periban's obviously fought for a world title against Bika but he was well beating on my card (117-112 ) he's nothing but a crude fighter compared to James Degale,who should on the night be levels above Periban

Na this is Andre did fell who arguably best froch and was beating Abraham before he got hit whilst he had slipped on the canvas

@Lefty.......fair call, Andre is potentially the unexploded, half-forgotten grenade sitting right in the middle of the SMW boardroom. He's got the ability to wreck several carefully constructed career plans, DeGale's included.

It pains me to say it because he came across as a bit of a knob; but he was hugely effective against Froch and that fight he produced in Nottingham looks way better considering the way Bute would fair further down the line. Pretty sure that Carl, from the safety of retirement, will view that fight as one he was pleased to get out of the way.

I know it was pretty much 50/50 split on opinions if i remember,although i never got a computer until 2011 so i wasnt on here but i think thats the general concensus

Ive said it on here before but whenever we get these boxer vs fighter type fights when neither man lands too much of note,i always seem to go for the "boxer" I gave both Trout and Lara wins over Canelo for example

So did I, but I think the referee's took a decision, unconsciously or consciously to penalise him for his frankly unsporting conduct, he threw himself to the canvas so may times, I'm surprised he didn't get cauliflower knees.

It's funny that you classify it as boxer vs fighter type because personally i wouldnt really classify Froch as a 'fighter' by nature. Dont get me wrong, more often than not he ends up in some kind of brawl, but I think he's more of a 'boxer' by nature who ends up brawling if that makes sense. Im sure everyone will disagree with me on that one though haha.

I think with Froch,apart from Abraham and Kessler fights he's been in against faster opponents so he often has to play the "fighter" and rely on his stalking and walking down taking some while landing his own heavier shots,In the Kessler case they were both played the "fighter",the Abraham fights the one fight i think of when i see a "boxing" performance for 12 rounds but TBF not a lot of his fights go the distance

I was actually gonna say apart from the first Dirrell fight ,the fight with Calzaghe was a mess

If memory serves re Dirrell vs Froch, most seemed to have Dirrell winning on here for a bit, then a lot of folks got back from Nottingham (some clear Froch fans who know him personally, others more impartial) and it evened things out a bit on the pole.

The primetime card (yes this was on PPV) was rediculous... Duke/Rawling had Dirrel winning, but then when the winner was announced they were like "thank god for that".

For me, one of the worst decisions in a UK ring - Dirrell won that fight BIG. It was a weird bout though, what was with that mutual praying / hand holding business when the cards were being announced.

I thought froch nicked it, but then i was getting really annoyed with dirrells tactics he was just trying to avoid fighting and cheat a win.

That was the most uncomfortable I've ever seen Carl. It's probably the first time I actually warmed to him as a person - he just looked so awkward & was clearly thinking 'what the fvck am I doing pretending to pray'. He's a no nonsense, man's man, is Carl Froch.

Dirrell didn't want to fight. Scrappy and messy, but Froch got it I think.

The consensus ringside was that Dirrell beat Froch. We were truly shocked when Froch got the decision. Nevertheless it was a close fight.

I thought Dirrell took it, thought it was a poor decision at the time but I wasn't disappointed he didn't get it. I didn't like the way he fought the fight or the attitude him and his team came over with. I really can't stand Gary Shaw, no idea why.
