what does everyone make of scott quiggs opponent despite him looking about 60?

he has never fought outside japan, but another acute stat, he has never in a career fought anyone with a more losses that victories. Not sure there are many fringe level fighters who could boast such a feat. don't they do journeymen in japan?

He is very tall too. Could this be a decent test for the chippy champ?

On paper its a joke of a fight. Not sure how you can fight for a "world" title when you have never been in a 12 round fight. Don't worry after the fight I am sure hearn will guarantee the next one will be a huge one!

They do do journeymen, many of which are Indonesians or Thais as opposed to domestic fighters. Their novices/rookies take a different stance to the UK guys in that a lot of them take part in the Rookie of the Year against fellow novices rather than journeymen.

Munyai is tall, 177cm I think.

It's not great match, but like you say, it's not for a world title, but a "world" title. Hopefully Otaki can surprise us and make a fight of it.

Edit - just looked and realised the first fight was a draw. I remember the second being a bit more one-sided.

Just having a look at Otake's record there,nothing to write home about,i dont think i recognised 1 opponent,im no Japanese pugilist expert mind you

When i first read this fight got made,the print made out this was the toughest fight of Quigg's career,surely even a blown up Jamoye is better than Hidenori,but again ive never seen him,hopefully Scott takes care of him in double quick fashion

I think many people making those types of comments have just looked at Otake's BoxRec ranking and assumed that he's good based on that.

That guy was an animal, no way will otaki be in the same league. Chi gave a prime morales a very tough fight, if there was anything to suggestion he was made from the same stuff he wouldent be fighting quigg, no chance. Gallagher and Hearn just wouldn't allow it

His manager only sounded the same as our promoters, he defended the domestic title etc and now we want world titles, we here that on sky sports 1 every Saturday night off our people, otaki people are only saying the same, probably same as brian Rose going over to New York

Yeah agree, I wander if the Americans moan like we have about quiggs opponent , they probably never heard of some our lads when we go our there for our annual 3 month pasting
