Cleverly-Bellew live on BBC Radio 5 Live

Just making people aware of this in case they weren't already. The Beeb's Mike Costello is a terrific commentator and should spare us the hype coming from Sky surrounding the fight. Mind you, I'm quite amazed that the BBC have got sucked into it...unless they've seen that the interest for fans is there but not to the extent of paying PPV for it?

Like Cholo said Mike Costello is superb - IMO he is nearly as good as watching it on the box

For me, I think boxing is the most exciting sport to listen to on the radio - obviously as long as the fight's not a stinker. Ian Darke and John Rawling were also very good radio commentators. Costello also talks a lot of sense about the sport and his calm and considered views rather shows up Steve Bunce when the two are together - not hard I know.

I listened to Bruno winning the World Title on the radio when I was a teenager.

Good times.

I'm sure I listened to Johnny Nelson v James Warring on the radio (or I may have spent an hour in hell).

Costello is possibly the best commentator in Britain right now, certainly a 2-horse race between him and Darke.

Most of my brain activity stopped immediately afterward and I got a nose bleed when the scores were announced.

Yeah, listening to judges will do that to you.

If you can find it, listen to the 12th round of Froch vs. Taylor as covered by 5 live. It was the first time I've listened to a fight on radio and couldn't believe how absorbing and intense it was. Duke McKenzie and Barry McGuigan went ape sh1t as Froch floored Taylor then chased him down for the stoppage. Still brings a smile to my face thinking about it. Radio coverage is definitely a worthwhile alternative to buying the PPV.

I listened to Khan-McCloskey on the radio due to being at work, it was definitely better than watching it. :D

Would love to hear the Hagler-Hearns radio broadcast again. Must have been Ian Darke back than? It wasn't shown live in my ITV area so I listened in bed.

I remember as a 9 year old kid getting up in the early hours with the whole family to listen to Tyson vs Bruno 1 on the Radio. Was pretty exciting stuff.

Think this might be the solution to the PPV dilemma I've been having all morning

Listening to boxing on the radio is shocking, they make every fight sound like gatti ward.

What? I've listened to loads of fights on the radio, can't say I agree with that at all.
