Here is a full fight. That was a really small ring. Rose had nowhere to run.

Nice win for Khytrov; I think he may be my favorite prospect to watch.
Despite what the commentators said I thought he was clearly winning the round prior to the KO.

He's a very good Ukrainian fighter. Golovkin potential imo.

See you all in FEB
Fortuna and Rose were quality prospects and he walked right through them what type and level of opponents do you have in mind moving forward so he can actually gain some ring experience. Findley, Ossie Duran types?
This is the sharpest Khytov has looked as a pro great stuff. The way he was stabbing Rose to the solarplexus with his jab to disrupt him was lovely, his defense looked much better keeping his guard tight but more importantly remembering to bring his hands back to defend after punching, blocking shots with his arms, slipping and punching off of the slips or slipping and countering at the same time and quicker transitions between offense and defense. Even his offense looked sharper with his punch selection and the fluidity of his combinations which at his best is second to none.
Two questions if you don't mind. Do Yevgen, Sergei, and Ivan all live close to eachother in Brooklyn? Also do Yevgen and Sergei get along or was Derevyanchenko's problem solely with the Ukrainian Boxing Federation's decision but not Khytrov personally?

Why not Dmitry Chudinov ? That fight could draw crowds in Russia or Ukraine taking into account the political situation. Of course, Chudinov's team may not take it, as risk is too high. They are hoping to get Golovkin fight.

I'd like to see him fight Jermain Taylor and win the IBF middleweight title.

1. Yes they all live close by.
2. No bad blood at all. The guys all hang around each other.
My question to the fans who would you like Ievgen to fight next? Remember this an ESPN show so don't say guys that we would fight on HBO card.
I have some opponents in my mind want to hear yours...
hello Barron, gongrats on big win, Ievgen improved a lot. For next fight, here is my advices:
Dominic Wade 16-0 (11KOs) of Largo, Maryland
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0xvRZNgiHe8
Tony Harrison 18-0 (15KOs) of Detroit (his high ko% seems because of bad oponents)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OuvTmatAmjc
Both seems dangerous, but victory over these guys definitively put Ievgen on top guys radar.
This should be ha perfect ESPN main event
KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK :)

Some names that haven't been mentioned:
1. Paul Mendez
15-2-2, never been stopped, and no losses in his last 12. He did draw with Rose though, so if you're looking for another step up I'm not sure he's it.
2. Lamar Russ
14-2. He was unbeaten this time last year, but since lost on HBO in a competitive fight with Macklin before losing to Derrick Findley in a bout where knockdowns made the difference. Not a greatly exciting opponent, but I think he's suitable at this point and given his trips to the canvas against Findley he may be a good opponent if you're looking for Khytrov to score a heavy stoppage.
3. Patrick Majewski
21-3. Good record at first glance and he took once promising prospect Patrick Nielsen 12, but he was also stopped in 1 on NBC against Curtis Stevens. One the one hand he seems like the type that Khytrov could score an memorable stoppage over, but I'm also not sure how much credit he'd get since Majewski was stopped in 1 in his last fight, though I guess many casual fans may not be aware of that.
4. Abraham Han
The most ambitious choice among those I've listed. 23-1 with probably his best win in his last fight against 32-1 (though against weak opposition) Marcos Reyes. He would likely be Khytrov's best opponent but he was well beaten by Glen Tapia and I think Khytrov could do the same. He's also a fairly entertaining fighter with good heart, so him against Khytrov seems like it would have a good chance of being a fun fight. Given that he's built some momentum with his last win he may not want to take a bout with such a dangerous opponent though, and him vs Khytrov seems like it should headline an ESPN show rather than being on the undercard.

Raymond Gatica 14-3 Durable and comes to fight
Harry Joe Yorgey 27-2 Glossy record against obscure opposition
Andy Kolle 26-4

Yevgen can and should take on somebody higher in rankins like Truax (25-1-2).

Thanks for the answers.
Mendez, Han, Russ are good calls or Findley, Duran, Medina, Bouadla for more proven types. How long until you feel like he's ready to move past the development stage and start matching him with the intention of climbing the ratings and breaking into the world scene? Think he'll be top 15 and moving towards title contention by spring/summer?

How about the guy Murata fought last time out? Allows a yardstick test with someone who I suspect will be there or there abouts the title scene at the same time as Khytrov

This looks like a good enough yardstick test to me:

They fought like professional boxers, and with professional judging it would be a wide win for Yevgen.

Can't see them fighting until one of them is a world champion but that's one I'm excited about. Shame we didn't get a rerun in the Olympics :(

Have - Jorge Sebastian Heiland 25(13)-4-2 (

Heiland just stopped Macklin having shown unbelievable work rate (most likely heavy use of PEDs). Would be quite challenging.

Barron please make a fight against Tureano Johnson at some point that would be something to witness.

Han would be a good action fight until Abe eventually gets beaten to a pulp. Perfect ESPN show case.

What about Mora? He fought Proska on ESPN in the not so distant past and cant seem to get fights.

Mora is a spoiler and a pretty good one which is why he can't get fights. Yevgen doesn't need that kind of fight at this stage of his career.

A win over Mora would really vaunt him though in terms of recognition.
