Not sure, but the card is being broadcast on B o x nation starting at 2am, so I imagine it'll be around 5am? Presumably they've timed it to fit in with the US audience.

I reckon 3.00 A.M, I seem to recall they usually get scheduled for the equivalent of 10.00 P.M east coast time, though it may have to be later, there's not much point having it in China and scheduling it at a time that means nobody in the Asian Market will watch it.

Tricky one this, China is a full 12 hours ahead of the east coast, not sure how this is going to work and generate more buys - if they stage it a t a time that suits china, nobody in the U.S will watch it, and vice versa - unless in China they like watching fights in the afternoon?

The HBO broadcast is scheduled to start at 9pm ET which is 2am UK time. Therefore I think the main event will be around 4.30am UK time or slightly later. That's merely a calculated guess.

I find it all rather odd, (not saying you're wrong, just the timings are weird) that means the Chinese will be watching at 4.30 P.M - I guess it's possible it's a cultural thing and they watch big events in the daytime, who knows?

Has the venue in Macau put up a lot of money, if not, are they really going to do any significant PPV numbers in China?

I'd be absolutely shocked if the card is on PPV in China. I thought Arum was focussing on Macau purely due to its huge gambling revenues?

The Chinese audience has an entirely different culture to the Europe and America with boxing. They like to wake up and watch the boxing straight away, so I imagine it will be around 10-11 am in China so that would be like 3am in the UK? They may push it back to 4am ish UK time to captivate both the US and Chinese markets though

That is just an educated guess though

Is that true - do you know that for a fact - I suspected that might be the case - but had no prior knowledge to go on.

I wonder how many people buy PPV's in China, not many I suspect, their TV market really is in it's infancy, how many people actually have access to PPV channels?

Thing is, like the African Market, they've got a huge population base so the potential is vast.

I can well see in the future that all the money is going to be around Welterweight to middleweight - in fact, let's face it, it already is, when was the last time there was a really huge money fight at heavyweight? Pacman and certainly mayweather, are outearning anyone at heavyweight I would have thought.

The future is outside of Europe and North America for boxing, if boxing can parlay itself into those markets.

I'm not sure that this particular fight is going to really do big numbers in Asia, but certainly going forward, I can see a lot more fights being staged over there, and a whole new crop of Asian fighters coming through to become big stars in the Asian market and beyond.

Buffer is going to need to learn Mandarin at this rate.

Mate it's not PPV in China, it's free to air.

Not fact, just knowledge I picked up somewhere, probably read it somewhere or heard it in an interview.

It wont be PPV in China, but obviously advertising will cover the costs, and Zou Shiming has already had over one billion people view his 5 fights, so the audience and therefore money is clearly there.

The future is certainly there and with the way the culture the way it is, it means that the US and the Asian markets will get what they want in terms of times for fights, just us Europeans that have to wake up at the ungodly hours hahaha
