Great night of boxing, NZ boxing needs more of this.
Aloua/mckracken great fight, the bull is a warrior.
Super 8 had everything, personally I think Soi won the final but was extremely lucky first up against Lance Bryant.
Kali Meeham proved he still has it. Tua next? Probably.
As for Meehan jnr, he's a star in the making. Great night.

http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=699182 At times it looked like he was gonna be stopped, but he fired back something shocking in 7th
Excellent stoppage by ref Reg Williams

Aloua ran out of steam in the 7th, and was defenseless from the shots of McKracken and the fight was stopped. The McKracken awakes!
Soi was very very lucky to get that decision over Bryant, and the final between Pitt and Soi was by far the worst fight of the night.
How Pitt was not docked a point for leaning, clasping and holding, head-locking beggars disbelief. Soi's stamina started to fade and Pitt just used his smothering tactics to clinch the victory by clinching. No wonder the crowd jeered the fight and the decision.

yes very sensible stoppage and avoided a disaster .... being flat footed and then defending flush shots with your head , then turning your back is not intelligent defence or boxing skill .... excellent game plan and win by McCracken

Kali versus Shane was simply a good big man being too good (and strong) for a good little man.
Kali won well on points, winning 6 rounds, 2 split and Shane 2. Shane never stopped trying, and was bruised and bleeding but never shirked in mixing it up with Kali. Kali used his size and weight to make it hard for Shane, pushing him around and tying him up. Both fought well in bursts and Kali at 44 years looked in excellent condition.
Have a great retirement, Shane. Kali on that form would give Big Daddy a run for his money.

well I don't see that lucas has anything that would really concern kali if they met. I don't see lucas ko'ing kali, and I really wonder if lucas could take those shots for 12 rounds. no way lucas would take this fight when he's a fluke chance at a title shot soon, and u can understand why.

Let's not be silly Cameron was past prime and not exactly elite to begin with(either is Lucas but he's better than Cameron). No disrespect to Shane and his yo-yoing between Dannyweight-HW wouldn't of helped. I actually thought Kali would and probably should of knocked Shane out. Shane showed great heart and had a decent career. Though fighting Kali would be better than Welliver......awful,awful fight.

By brutally KTFO of Kali after losing 3 or 4 early rounds or wide UD with some 10-8 rounds. Having to lose 19lbs in 7 weeks to make Dannyweight affected Cameron. He got $375,000 for it I suppose did you watch Cameron-Minto? That tells you all you need to know about Shane Cameron now. Credit to Shane for a decent career though. Nice article on Shane. Well done Mountain Warrior.

Shane Cameron has always done as best as he could - the Meehan fight wasn't exactly vintage for skills or the sublime nature of both their pugilistic ability .... none the less a fight which headlined a card which seemingly most enjoyed ... hope both of them retire well and be successful
