Liston-Patterson III - Spring or Summer 68 - How does it go?

If Sonny Liston and Floyd Patterson were to have met in a third fight in early or mid 1968, how would it have gone?

To me, at that point, Liston didn't seem as sharp, destructive, and confident as he did during his run to the championship. On the other hand, Floyd seemed more solid and sure of himself, even if he'd lost a bit of speed as he'd aged. Both fighters were reasonably active in 1967, with Floyd taking on tougher competition.

I could see this fight going a few different ways. What do you think?

I think your assessment of both fighters at this point is correct. I do think Liston would always have the edge. Think he would stop Patterson...probably later in the fight. . .
