I didn't see the fights tonight. Had to work.

How did they both look? From what I've read Degale looked great & Groves struggled early on before overcoming a slightly smaller opponent. Is that accurate?

I love their rivalry - even if they're not on each others radar right now. Known each other since they were nippers & both in the top ten (possibly higher) of a boxing division. What are the odds of that?

A year ago Groves was looking much better than Degale but James has come on in leaps & bounds in his last two while George is still getting back together (& talking weird).

Who would you have if they fought each other next?

I'd have Groves all day long if it was the pre Froch Groves. There seems to be something missing from him since. That said I didn't see tonights fight so I probably shouldn't really comment.

Degale was good, albeit against a massively overrated opponent who was woefully out of shape.

Groves was clearly not up for this one and was expecting to knock him over in a round. He struggled early but did adapt to land a few telling shots and get the win.

I'd still back Groves over James again, I think the difference between him this year and last year is motivational. How DO you get up for fighting on an undercard when you've filled Wembley 6 months ago?

How did the Sky team go about the Degale/Groves thing? It definitely seemed in the arena that they are angling (Matchroom atleast) for Degale v Groves 2 next.

Before the Degale fight there was a little promo shown on the screen all about Degale/Groves and will it happen again etc

I have no real opinion on DeGale or Groves as in like or dont like.

I thought Groves was terrible, looked hurt at one point and got a possible broken nose for his troubles.

Agree with the above comments about Periban but I believe DeGale is improving and tbh I think hes looking good at the moment. Was talking about putting a bet on him winning by ko but jibbed.

Anyway, I know I will get slated for this but I think if Froch was to fight DeGale the torch would be passed over.

Froch stated that he had been thinking that he would maybe fight the winner of DeGale/Groves but Groves was that bad he thought DeGale would tear him a new A-Hole. All this while saying Groves had been "Cobrafied"

I guess the difference between them now is down to confidence understandably.
Degale still has his and he believes it when he tells you how great he is,and after Groves`s 2 losses to Froch his confidence is shot and he no longer believes what he`s trying to convince us of anymore.

I agree

Not sure about DeGale beating Froch (unless Carl just gets old overnight) but can see him doing a number on Groves quite easily.

Me too, James is moving a lot better now after his injury problems and the difference from 1 year ago is huge.
