So, what now for the British super middleweights?

Carl Froch - We all know that he wants Vegas. He implied last night he will vacate so he can do what he chooses. He also said he would fight the winner of groves vs degale. That fight is unlikely as both are mandatory for the wbc and ibf titles i think.

James Degale - If Froch vacates, which he says he will, does that leave the likes of Rebrasse, Julius Jackson and Gilberto Ramirez? Why is there nobody ranked #2 in the IBF? Rocky Fielding is top 10 with them too.

George Groves - Surely the WBC title fight is next in the US? I think Dirrell has too much. Why would he or Degale want to fight each other just yet?

Paul Smith - It was implied that Abraham has agreed to a rematch. Not sure where he goes if that doesn't happen. Maybe Rocky Fielding is the only real option as he won't fight Callum and Degale and Groves have already beaten him inside a few rounds.

Callum Smith - He is now top 8 with the WBC. Where can he go next? If he fights anyone above him in the WBC we are talking Ramirez, Bika, Andre Dirrell, Dereck Edwards and Alex Brand. Not sure he is quite there yet.

Thoughts?

Andre Dirrell is fighting Derek Edwards for the IBF no2 spot.

Thanks. Wondered what was happening there.

I was going to post the same thing the other day. If all goes to plan (it's a long shot) we could see a British dominated SMW scene

With Ward and Froch bizarrely sharing WBA super champ status, perhaps we could see Ward stripped through inactivity.
If Froch dodges Degale to fight JCC jr and vacates the IBF, we could see Degale face someone like Rebrasse (or Andre Dirrell as lefty suggests)
If Groves beats Anthony Dirrell for the WBC and Smith beats Abraham for the WBO we could feasibly have 4 brits at the top of the super middleweight division

Rebrasse is ranked 11th by the IBF, he won't be fighting for the vacant title.

The rankings shown on fightnews.com show Rebrasse ranked NO.3 b the IBF with the No.2 spot empty.

if Froch Vacates which i imagine he will, it'll be Degale vs andre Dirrell for the vacant IBF which will be excellent

Those rankings are out of date. Why would they have Groves at No. 10 after he's just convincingly beaten the No. 3?

You think? I've got a feeling that fight could be a bit of a stinker, skilful as the two guys are.

Ramirez has won an eliminator, letters go out on 31st December so he would be in pole position to fight DeGale
