Moscow Event: Chakhkiev-Junior, Kudryshov-JC Gomez

Coming up on Friday, November 28.

I don't care for the main event, but there's some interesting fights on the undercard, including Dmitry Kudryashov vs. Juan Carlos Gomez.

We saw Rakhim Chakhkiev's opponent Jackson Junior on NBC a few weeks ago, he's a good fighter. Joey Vegas is better than some of the very soft opponents Top Rank has been putting Egor Mekhontsev in with. Andrey Klimov is trying to bounce back from a tough loss. Sergey Kuzmin will have his pro debut against Nicolas Buule (3-0, age 26).

http://boxrec.com/show_display.php?show_id=702952

Ruslan Provodnikov (23-3) vs. Jose Luis Castillo (66-12-1)

Eduard Troyanovsky (19-0) vs. Jose Agustin Feria (16-1-1)

Dmitry Kudryashov (15-0) vs. Juan Carlos Gomez (55-3)

Rakhim Chakhkiev (20-1) vs. Jackson Junior (15-1)

Andrey Klimov (18-1) vs. Gabino Cota (16-2-1)

Sergey Lipinets 4-0 vs. Ernie Sanchez (14-5-1)

Egor Mekhontsev (6-0) vs. Joey Vegas (17-9-1)

Sergey Kuzmin (debut) vs. Nicolas Buule (3-0)

Dmitry Bivol (debut) vs. Jorge Rodriguez Olivera (25-10)

I actually like this card. Sue me. I keep being told I should feel bad about Castillo getting beat up by Provodnikov, but didn't him coming in heavy for the rematch against Corrales basically destroy Corrales' career and lead to a downward spiral? Or do we just forget that now?

Evil Russians used a girl to lure Mickey to fight in Moscow:

The guy lost 35 pounds to get in shape.

Troyanovsky is another interesting fighter, big puncher. One I most look forward to see. Unfortunately his opposition is pretty lame.

Dmitry Bivol is a talented light heavyweight with a good amateur background.

He's in with a good opponent considering it's his pro debut.

This event in Moscow starts in just over six hours from now. The entire card will be televised on Russia Sport 2.

I can't watch until I get home in a few hours, so I'll miss Kuzmin's and Bivol's pro debuts, as well as Mekhontsev's fight.

I'm hoping to be home in time to see Kudrashov vs. JC Gomez and Chakhkiev vs. Junior.

I'm not going to watch Provodnikov's and Rourke's fights.

Mekhontsev doesn't seem to have a good inside game.

That was his worst career performance. But Vegas was good at surviving, not giving ground away and quickly grabbing. Egor's strong skill is usually a very high work rate which wasn;t the case today.

Kudryashov next!!

He is a beast!

He should look out for Gomez liver work, otherwise imo he forces Gomez out of his confort zone by boxing at a too high pace, stalking gomez
