He is a class act in defeat and he doesn't dodge any question; I think the fellow is OK and hope he gets to weight he is more effective at. That was one of the most honest interviews I've read in some time.

Fair assessment. Guys like Huck are 16 stone plus when they come into camp. Legends like Louis, Holmes, Ali and Shavers would have been cruisers in this day and age. Cleverly is a light heavyweight.

Fair play to Clev , didn't do himself justice in the second fight , back down to cruiser ? I reckon if he has earnt enough already he should jack it in , after being at the top of the tree domestic fights don't have the same appeal

Clev was clearly not a cruiser & never would have moved up if he didn't have his confidence wrecked by Kovalev - at least it's pretty clear from the interview that he realises his mistake. He only managed to last the distance cos Bellew isn't a proper cruiser either. Huck would absolutely smash them both.

As far as I am concerned Nathan cleverly is a top boxer mentally and is now thinking clearly about his future but in his ideal weight class (light-heavyweight).

I became a fan of Nathan Cleverly in the build up to the Bellew fight and it would be a shame to see him retire.

Clev could face Roy Jones Jnr at CW for a fun fight on a Sky Sports Fight Night show from Wales, maybe even James Toney, Antonio Tarver or Jean-Marc Mormeck. Other than I can't see what else there is for him in the CW division.

Its LHW or retire for me.
Team him up with Lee Purdy to put on a few shows in Wales and see what happens...

So he found out what we all knew, he's not a cruiser. So what was the point? Another 18 months of his career wasted. He is a thin, rangy guy, was never gona cut it against big full-blown cruisers with bigger frames than Light-Heavys.

Just cos he got bashed up by Kovalev doesn't mean he didn't still have a shout at Light Heavy for other fights. Crazy decision to move up.

And theres nothing to say he cannot go back to lightheavy .. This was a sensible fight for him , think about it , he had a win over Bellow , he knew no matter what, he probably would'nt get hurt even if he lost , FIGHTING AT THAT WEIGHT WAS PROBABLY THE ONLY WAY A REMATCH WAS GOING TO HAPPEN , AND WHEN HE LOST HE JUST SAYS , Ooops , sorry the weight was just a bit too much for me , but never mind , I'll have them two houses at the end of the block , the chippy across the road , and a new Merc for the missis , Oh and book us an holiday for thae states has well , while your at it .

Followed by If he wants to fight at catchweight , i don't mind another couple of houses and a boozer . Very very sensible fight for him .

Surely at least 185. Says he was 196 on Sat - hardly the 25 pounds of extra mass he blames for slowing him down.

I think that there is substance to Clev's dilemma. He's said that he's overgrown the Light Heavyweight division and yet carrying the extra muscle weakens his strengths.

Not touched a drop for 14 months. Admits that he might have gone over the top between fights before though, definitely not an alcoholic though, the rumour was started by Bellew being a wanker/himself asking if he'd been to AA meetings.

The rumour was not started by bellew it has been going for a while and it is from people who r close to clev! If u all think it's a rumour then that's your business but the truth will come out soon!

Oh and coz clev said on tv he may have gone a bit over the top but he doesn't have a problem, what would u expect him to say??????
