I think they do a decent job with the bills they put together, especially as you have atleast 5 50/50 fight coming up in January after a good bill in Hull and Dublin at the back end of this year. Forget PPV, do you think they do a good job.

agree it's got to be a good thing that there is more competition promotions wise, but Eddie don't half get carried away bigging up his fighters

I can only see 1 50/50 in January and the Dublin show was shite, full of mismatches and nothing fights.

They do ok on the whole, but most shows are either bad or average, it's not often we see a really good bill and with the fighters they have and Sky behind them, they should do better than that.

eddie made a comment on boxingnews he is wrong

Saunders vs eubank is a 50-50 fight, he said what if it ends in a 2 round 1 sided beatdown, then its not 50-50 is it

he is wrong

if a 50-50 fight is one sided it shows a "excellent performance" from the dominating guy.
a 50-50 fight is based on people views/polls before and also on bookmakers

what happens in the ring is a different matter.

There are a lot of things I dislike about Matchroom but ultimately I think the answer has to be Yes. They've raised the profile of boxing in this country significantly and it wasn't so long that Sky fight nights would be taking place in half full leisure centres instead of the arenas that host now.

I dislike that they have the monopoly of boxing on Sky Sports, I dislike that they are slowly but surely devaluing the British title by having so many of their boxers simply skip past it and I loathe the fact that the shambles on Saturday night was considered a Pay Per View.

Taking all that into consideration though, I still think British boxing would be far worse off without them.
