how did everyone score this fight? I had chris winning by 1 round. Wouldn't argue with a draw though. I just don't see how some have Billy winning by 4 rounds.

8 rounds to 4 in my opinion, my dad an my mate had it 7-rounds to 5 tho.
But how you could give that that fight to Eubank is beyond me , BJS was far to sharp for him in the first 6 rounds , he also had Jnr missing and hitting thin air throughout that fight . will say this this tho , Jnr made a fan out of me , plenty of fight in him like his dad , i just don't think fighting them bums like he had been doing was good prep for taking on BJS , he needed tougher tests on the way up ...he will come again i think .

Eubank had never fought at this level and it showed but he looked lost to start the fight and unsure for the first 4 - 5 rounds. Then he appeared to learn on the job and made it a fight. Had he started fighting and applying pressure two rounds earlier, we could have had a different result. Saunders put on a solid display but I had the impression that Eubank lost the fight with his slow start rather than Billy won it.
I think Eubank will improve through this experience. Remember that he went in having had limited amateur experience and ditto at the pro level. He has just pushed the British, European and Commonwealth champion to the wire and lost purely down to that slow start. Give Eubank just one of the early rounds and a draw would have been universally respected.
He needs tidying up with the balance issues. Needs to be a little more fluid but we are not miles off.
Now he has this experience in the bank, who do you think would win a rematch? Eubank would not start that slow next time for sure.

116-113 Saunders
BJS's greater polish showed and some of Eubank's misses were so off the mark that it was laughable. I was impressed by the talent (rather than technical skill) Eubank showed though; very fast hands, formidable strength, and his stamina and chin seemed solid.
Now he has this experience in the bank, who do you think would win a rematch? Eubank would not start that slow next time for sure.
May not finish as strongly though.

I thought that before posting but I think he will be fine. Guy looks like he may have solid reserves and chin like his old man

One thing was that it is has been a while since I had that electric buzz at the start of a fight. From when they were on the way in until the end.
It actually took me back to the days of Eubank Snr, Benn, Watson etc. So with that in mind, I think Jnr is a welcome member of the big fight scene. He could get into the Super middle mix in the future to be part of a new circle with Smith, Groves and Degale too

117-111 Saunders
Maybe could have been a round closer, possibly two, but I see no case for Eubank Jr winning or a draw, Saunders was a clear winner IMO. Rounds seemed to get scored to Eubank Jr because he came alive and started swinging, rather than him actually landing with anything clean, intent does not win rounds for me unless it's backed up with scoring punches.

116-112 Saunders cant see how you would have Eubank winning or even the draw. Worst ways 115-113 no closer than that though.

116-113 to Saunders.
Though I'll probably watch fight again sometime this week. I always find it more informative watching a fight the second time around.

I'm going watch the replay and score it, however I'm sure Eubank won at least one of the first 5 rounds. Because, and admittedly I was drinking and eating fried chicken, I though Eubank might have nicked it. Talk sport had it the same and Ritchie woodhall was commentating on that, he tends to score fights the same way I do. The way I saw it was BJS would land a jab and take a body shot back and the allegedly commentators were applauding his work completely ignoring that he was shipping shots. I think at one point in the first 5 rounds he got pinned on the ropes and took 3 unanswered uppercuts to the head, and they applauded his ability to move off the ropes.

I scored the first 7 rounds to Saunders, then 4 out of the last 5 to Eubank with 1 drawing round.
But, as I say, I'll watch it again...

Does eating fried chicken effect your judging abilities then?

I can see anywhere between 117-111 and 115-113 at best, but Eubank certainly didn't win that fight and wasn't half as effective as he looked when he was pressing the fight. He looked the stronger man at times but a lot of his shots were missing or hitting arms and he was all over the place. Second half of the fight was competitive, first half was a cake walk.

Had Saunders 117-111
Got to say that neither looks like a world champion in the making. Neither hit hard enough to get respect at the world level. Saunders has lovely technical ability but real stamina issues, he should really consider dropping the 6lbs to make Light Middleweight. Eubank Jr needs to get back to reality and realise he's not this monster puncher that the Latvian builders have made him out to be. Eubank's strength and speed are very impressive, his technical ability however is dire and needs tidying up significantly if he's going to step up.
For what it's worth they are both a long, long way behind Murray.

I had Eubank ahead by two rounds.
If people watch it again, do so without commentary.

I thought Saunders won clearly, Eubank did not have the necessary skills to close the gap or execute combination hitting. He showed courage and determination and he showed how he could be flustered, bothered and frustrated. Saunders is the better boxer, boxes for more of the 3 mins and was capable going forward, backward and side wards while Jnr was effective for short spells only.

Only if it's really good chicken lol. Some fights I don't score I just watch and others usually if I'm watching them on my own ill jott down the scores as I go.

You think? I dont think Murray is that great to be honest. I think Golovkin will bust him up pretty badly and I think Saunders would stand a pretty good chance against Murray. If Sturm could hold Murray to a draw. Saunders (who i think is a better boxer) could do likewise i think.

I stopped scoring it just after halfway but my impression was that Saunders won (probably by about two/three points.) I was curious to know what they were saying on the radio (Talksport) and according to that knob Colin Murray all the commentators - Ian Darke, Richie Woodhall and Steve Collins (as well as Murray - not that counts for much - he told Tyson Fury that many people felt Fury-Chisora I was a controversial decision) - thought that Eubank Jr. won.

I don't think Murray is great but he's miles ahead of both of those guys. Golovkin smashing up Murray says more about Golovkin who would smash Eubank Jr and BJS on the same night. Saunders would be walked down by by Murray whilst Eubank would get ground up by body shots IMO.

Eubank jnr should fight Anthony Fitzgerald next, to get back on the winning track.
Gary O'Sullivan after that...
