Looked dodgey to me. Fury could have taken Del out at any time if he went through the gears but yet he chose to box southy and treated it as nothing more than a sparring session. There were several rumours from reliable sources in the build up to the fight that Del wasn't well but wouldn't pull out. So did Tyson take it easy on him?

Fury defs could have ko'do him proper in the 10th if he stepped it up when Chsiora started to walk backwards.

Fury even glanced at the ref as he looked like he was moving in to stop the fight, so he must've known that Chisora was ready to be stopped. Despite that he hardly put a foot on the gas and if I recall correctly he just flicked some more jabs out. This was also after several rounds in which I thought it looked as if he could stop Chisora if he fought more aggressively, and given that he's not usually one to be overly weary of opponents I suspect that he may have been consciously prolonging things for some purpose. Perhaps it was because he wanted to get the rounds, gain more experience fighting southpaw, or because of what the OP suggests.

I think Fury needed the rounds, having said that Chisora was slow and looked old, maybe he was carrying an injury, but the money he was on for the fight he wasn't going to pull out again. Fury will probably be back out in March

As someone who has been critical of Fury in the past, I have to say I was very impressed with him last night. No-one has utterly dominated Chisora like that before and he controlled every minute of the fight.

I thought it was the best performance of his career. The only non-positive aspect of it that stood out to me was him not becoming more aggressive when it seemed fairly clear that Chisora was ready to be taken out.

I think there was an element of Fury having mercy on Chisora as much as anything. I dont know if he was intentionally carrying him as such but I got the feeling he didnt want to cause him serious damage and thus was holding back when he could of went all out and finished him. Although saying that, a slow beatdown like that is probably worse but hey lol.

Listened to the fight on Talk Sport and although none of the team were explicity saying 'carrying'.....Woodhall and Steve Collins were definitely perplexed as to why Fury was not unloading the heavy artillery, especially as he seemed to have Chisora where he wanted him from about the sixth round onwards. They took the view that Tyson wanted the rounds.

Very funny end to the broadcast....Steve Collins suddenly having to up and leave because his son was the next man in the ring and Colin Murray asking Richie Woodhall whether he fancied working his way through to dawn with another commentary.

Defiantly not carrying him, he sustained a beating that ain't healthy for fighters. I think Fury was boxing to orders as Peter even said at 1 point "keep playing with him like a cat plays with a ball"
I do think Chisora has had a lot of hard bouts and also he even said in there his legs felt heavy?
I think Tyson is a great prospect and have for a while he showed good ring generalship and also switching well (done before like in Rogan bout) he defiantly deserves a shot at a title he beat Derek easier than anyone else

As shit as Chisora looked last night, I still think he'd have a good chance against Price lol.

I'm not a fan of Fury, but I have to say that was a very impressive performance last night.

It's an open secret that Dereck had been ill but it would have made little difference had he been A1. When Fury boxes to orders like that against men who are lacking reach and power, he's almost untouchable. Chisora's only chance was if Fury had been ill-disciplined and squared up. He wasn't told to carry Dereck but he was told to take his time and not be careless.

Fury needed the rounds... so was told to stick to a game plan... but truth is, based on everything we saw last night, he could have at any time of ended Chisora.

It's as if that fight has been airbrushed from history & bear in mind that Haye spanked him during the period when many folk were proclaiming Chisora to have a chin like Oliver McCall ( ) & to be a really dangerous contender.

Yeah i thought Haye's was more impressive considering the height, weight and reach advantage that Fury had over a laboured Chisora made it relatively easy to execute his game-plan.

Haye had way more trouble with Dereck than Fury did.

p.s. before anyone starts, that doesn't mean I'm saying Fury is better than Haye. It's unlikely we'll ever find that out.

The 'fight' in Del Boy was exactly the same, it seems getting hit by Fury and not being able to get inside puts you in a survival shell. I bet Chisora felt like he was straight back in the 1st fight all over again and didn't like it one bit.

It's funny because all the comparisons made on previous threads ask what the outcome would be this time.
The idea being that both of them would be fit as opposed to the lumps they were then. The outcome was mostly the same that Fury would win based on being in shape. However Fury looked woefully out of shape though and it was still easy.

Wladimir -v- Fury is a mismatch.

Fury is way too easy to hit & he doesn't punch hard enough to worry Wladimir.

Fury will also need to get into damn site better shape than he's ever been in, or Wladimir will jab him into oblivion.

Wlad's a completely different kettle of bastard sturgeon. Fury has latterly discovered the Super-Heavyweight Road To Happiness & Success, playing it safe behind the jab & smothering your bemused, hesitant opponent when he manages to get inside. Do the Olly-the-Octopus thing when he gets inside & hang all your weight off his neck & voila! Physics will grant you a wide points win or a late retirement victory.

When allowed to dictate the pace & fighting within their limits, such fighters are very difficult to beat for pressure-fighter size heavies. Look at any Klitschenko title fight of the last five-ten years.

If Fury fights Wlad (big if if you ask me), I'll bet you my socks that he won't win. He might take some rounds off the Ukrainian & impress everyone with his heart & gumption etc etc but he's got zero chance of beating him.

I just don't think he can hurt Wladdy, & if you can't hurt Wladdy, you're going to be faced with the same dilemma that faced Pulev & made him fight like a kamikaze the other day: stand outside & play the jabbing game with him when he's as fast as you are & a much better boxer & he's hurting you waaaaaay more than you're hurting him, so outworking him is untenable. Your options narrow down to going into a defensive shell & half-hopefully swatting at him occasionally, or doing what Pulev did & mounting the Death Charge straight into the biggest one-shot hitter at the weight & hoping you nail him before he nails you.

If Wlad was showing signs of ageing & the engine winding down then, yes, an outside chance he could scuffle & fiddle & win a decision. But against the Wladdy we saw the other day?
