Could Eubank Jr make 154?

He came in a at 159 last night, and 158 the fight before, and he does carry a lot of muscle. Could he suck it down to 154?

Maybe he would carry more power down there, and there are a good few fights just on the Brit scene for starters.

I think yes. It is just 4lbs from a previous fighting weight.

He could possibly do that, but I don't think the weight is the issue.

Eubank's style is the problem.

He's too much posturing & posing & he doesn't sit down on his punches often enough.

Saunders could do 154 better than Eubank i think. I mean if he was disciplined with his diet and so on.

I don't know if he cuts or he doesn't. If he doesn't, then he could easily do 154lbs. If he does cut, he's over doing it.

Lol these are day before weigh ins... They're not on the day weigh in. If anyone could make 154 it would be bj Saunders

I was thinking the same. Saunders always looks small for the weight, and the way he gasses a bit over 12 rounds suggests he lacks discipline between fights.

The question wasn't about Saunders.

I know... It was about eubank jr - a guy with an under 5% body fat. I was saying the question should be about Saunders not him.

Not sure it's quite that low but I agree with your general point.

5% or not, he can still cut muscle & water. He is coming in under the limit regularly now which suggests maybe a move down where he could potentially be a beast. His dads probably hung up on him being a middleweight though.

Ever done the weight ?............even a pound is a nightmare.

If you've done a cut and are still overweight the nightmare starts but, if you haven't, it's a piece of piss.

Cutting muscle and water will only weaken him, he's a big, strong middleweight, but I'm not sure if a drop down to 11st would do much for him, if anything it might take something out of him IMO.

I agree - I am sure that Eubank is boxing at his optimum weight and doing the weight in the right way.

With his dad's knowledge and money I would've be surprised if he is monitored medically to make sure that he is in the right division.

The question is actually the biggest and oldest head fornicate for any boxer - every single boxer I have ever met in my life thinks "ok, I am fit and strong now but if I could box in a lower weight division then I will be even fitter and stronger"

I doubt his dad's knowledge and money! Great fighter, but notorious for doing the weight in an unbelievably bad way.. It was him who got check weigh ins brought in! I think he's bankrupt as well!
