Boxrec shows hes fighting HISASHI AMAGASA (ranked 11th at featherweight by the WBA).

Amagasa is good. He has four loses, all of which were either controversial, or at least close.

I assume this is Rigondeaux's stepping stone into the 126 lbs division. Amagasa is too tall to make 122, I think.

Out of interest have you actually SEEN him or are you basing the "is good" comment on his record?

Out of interest have you actually SEEN him or are you basing the "is good" comment on his record?

I follow the division closely, and he was on my watchlist at one point... But with time zones and the reliability of streaming websites I don't see many Japanese fights, I mostly read about them. I think I saw him fight on a card with Otake (who just fought Scott Quigg), and another fight several years ago.

I follow the division as well and technically he's a very flawed yet fun to watch fighter. He was being out boxed by Takenaka last time out before he got the tiring challenger out of there in the final round. From what I've seen he has nice power (as shown in impressive fashion against Nagata) though defensively he is flawed as hell and a lot of his shots are looping.

Why is the fight only for the WBO title, or have they forgot to add the WBA belt to the schedule? They best not have made Scott Quigg world champion by default.

Japanese press are saying it's for both, so could it be an over-sight by boxrec? The poster seems to suggest both titles, though the picture of Rigondeaux on has him with the WBA belt

Rigo is proly taking whatever fight he can get......its horrible how he has been screwed in his career. I don't think he's boring at all.....Mayweather and Wlad r horrible to watch not Rigo.
