Ok he got his belt back but he looked anything but convincing. I'm not dissing him cause i like the boy and I think he has a lot of ability but really not sure what good it's been going to Collins gym, from what I seen.

I agree Daz, Frank is a big, strong lump and has plenty of power but he ought to at least give a thought to moving his head a little bit, someone should tell him the Rocky fights weren't real. I remember Mark Tibbs as a clever boxer who enjoyed moving his head. More strength is not the answer to Buglioni's needs, a bit more sense is.

Does he have the ability or inclination to change ?

Would he go back to his previous trainer ? (would his previous trainer want to take him back?).

Not every boxer has to be a world beater - why not accept him for what he is ? - i.e. a decent domestic level boxer that will be in some exciting fights.

He's mediocre at best. If he didnt sell tickets like he did, i doubt he'd be on anyone's radar at all. He's like a super middleweight tom dallas.

If it wasn't for his freakish size at super-middle, he would have precisely no attributes whatsoever. Here's hoping he makes some money and cashes out before running into another puncher, because the next one he faces will finish his career.

I think he's found his level unfortunately. Would like to think he can go on to bigger things as he's a really likeable bloke but i just don't see the ability

He lost every round after he had Robinson down in the 7th when he should have been finishing him off and making a statement

I've always thought he was overated. British level at best, average chin, average power and average ability. Could never understand all the hype to be honest.

He's brilliant to watch and could win titles at domestic level but his defence is non existent,he can take a decent punch but because the shots he takes are so flush,he always a KO waiting to happen

Perhaps he needs a bit more time with the Collins crew before we can decide what he has got and how far he'll go? Good piece in the latest Boxing Monthly where Frank is upfront about why he made the change about where he trained and what he felt he needed to learn about the business. As a stating point, he's made a big commitment to get out of his comfort zone by prepping for fights in Dublin and working with Steve and Pashal....he's recognised that he needs to be pushed/challenged.

I think people are being a bit harsh. I havent noticed any more hype around him than other prospects other than he shifts tickets which isnt a bad thing? He trains hard and comes to fight. He may not progress too much further without adapting a bit, but Robinson isnt a bad pro and he had some ambition.

Some fighters are just tuned to fight one way regardless of training, others can make adaptions. Without knowing what he is doing in the gym hard to know what he is like and what defensive training he is getting. BUT Bottom line the game is about bums on seats and Buglioni seems to give the punters what they want to see.

Just to give a bit of realism here, he is in the same division as Froch, Groves, Degale, Ward, Dirrell etc.

Clearly he hasn't got a prayer at world level.

At British level he gets starched at the moment by the likes of Calum Smith.

They are going to need very considerate matchmaking to get the best out of him.

@Broomhall. Agreed......he's still finding his way in the sport and it is a bit previous to write him-off as a British-level fighter right at the moment. The Collins brothers need a bit of time to bring out what he has got......and I am fairly sure they are not in the business of wasting their time with blokes who are mainly hype.

Billy might correct me here, but I don't think Brophy has a contract with Matchroom, he's with Alex Morrison who provides most of the undercard for the shows in Scotland, but I don't think any of them are signed with Matchroom.

Love watching him, but for himself he needs to be much more harder to hit. Even against the current crop that is put in front of him. I wouldn't move him up a level. Give him Similar fighters and teach him to be much more allusive. Then move him up a level.

Put him in with Fielding or Smith.

No wonder he packs em in ! exciting to watch and after seeing his post fight interview from saturday seems like a real nice humble bloke who had lots of respect for his opponant ,what is not to like ??

True - he seems to get stuck because he isn't a world beater.

He is one of the nicest blokes you will ever come across, met him in Scotland for the Mitchell v burns fight on the plane going jumped in his cab to the hotel, when it all kicked off after and hotel bar shut he invited us all back to his hotel with his family/friends, food & drink laid on rolled out bout 5.30 in the morning, kept in touch ever since even watching him spar when was down TKO asked him for a signed glove for my gym within 10 mins he sent a photo through all done even sends texts on my daughters birthdays..... Top top fella......

He does sound like a lovely fella

Frank is a genuinely loverly loverly geezer, no question. I didn't even have to ask and signed a glove for my boy when I went to see him. The lad is down-to-earth and realistic about his own ability and knows the things he needs to work on.

I must admit though, I thought after leaving Mark and Jimmy that he'd have added a few new attributes to his game - maybe it takes a bit more time?
