Peter Fury says it will be a top 10 to 15 heavyweight.

But I think it won't even be a top 50 heavyweight.

What do you think? Will it be someone decent like Lucas Browne or Alexander Ustinov, or will it be a soft opponent like Raphael Zumbano Love or Richard Towers?

Cant see them wanting to take any chances but they'd be better prepared by taking a difficult fight, I think he'd beat Browne comfortably, be a credible enough opponent as well, I cant see how he beats Wlad though even though I think he'll turn up believing that he can win.

I thought he was on a fast track to Wladimir?

I don't see the point in him fighting in February & risking his shot.

Eddie Chambers or Tony Thompson, maybe Solis would all be decent fights for him I think.

I dont see Chambers as they are in the same camp. Although fast Eddie said that he too has a big announcement coming up soon.

Why mention Eddie? That fight is not happening for obvious reasons.

I was about to say exactly the same thing with Sklar that Takam might be a decent bet.

Dimitrenko? Someone similar to Wlad's height

Ustinov, kauffman, dimitrenko or thompson would all be credable, ranked opponents for a keep busy fight before the big one. Would have no complaints with any of these. Would like to see the brown fight but its not going to happen till either man has a belt

Ustinov would be good. Was gutted when it fell through. Needs to at least fight one half decent big heavy before he fights Wlad.

I've said it right from the start, it's going to be Tony Thompson. Peter rates him and they were in touch for a fight with Hughie but couldn't agree on a contract.
Tony was left cash short after the whole Solis cock-up.

Ustinov could turn nasty. His management team said some pretty nasty things on IFL tv after they pulled out due to Tyson's uncle illness. I'm not sure it would be a good idea.

Lucas Browne could be a good fight but he said he wasn't very interested just now. As for Carlos Takam, just lost in Moscow, would he take another risky fight? His management will be probably look at a comeback against a journeyman.

Wlad's got a voluntary first, then he'll have to fight Fury. It'll do Tyson good to have a fight between now and then, keep him in the gym and in shape and a chance to get in an opponent similar to Wlad stylistically.

I would like to see Fury have a competitive fight before Klitschko,the Chisora rematch was a doddle for him ,i can only remember Dereck landing one overhand right all fight

I know theres risk involved but its good when fighters have tough eliminators before they go on to a title shot,it serves them well and Tyson has been so inactive last 2 years,with the Del Boy fight a sparring session,plodding on to a certain win over someone like Thompson would do nothing to help him when he faces Wlad

He'd probably stop Price in two rounds. I think fighting someone who can take him into the second half of the fight would be better preparation for Wladimir.

Price won't give him rounds though, he'll probably buckle quickly under the pressure of the whole event or a 10% chance he lands a bomb firstly and puts a massive spanner in the works

Maybe,maybe not,maybe Price lands first,who knows? A lot of people actually think Price would be too dangerous for a tune up to a title shot,but when you put it in perspective,i dont think the fight will happen,but no doubt Price will be ranked lower than whoever they choose but more importantly he's about as similar to Wlad as you can find,if Fury really wants to give himself the best chance of beating Klitschko then i think Price is a risk worth taking definitly

If it's a bad opponent then so be it, he has the Klitschko fight on the horizon.

A two round knock over job is not going to help Fury very much in the lead up to the Klitschko fight.

Ustinov is a much better opponent to get Fury ready for Klitschko. He won't fall over after the first solid punch lands on him.

Hahaha. Would be a competitive fight until the stoppage, and price has real power that fury would do well to take. I also think it would be good for him mentally if he beat price. No matter how you slice it, he vacated belts rather than fight price. It won't happen, so it's not a great debate, but I don't think there's many that think fury would breeze through price.

It'll be Brian minto or someone. They aren't gona take a risk now are they? It'll be about keeping him active, sharp and in shape.

Crap fights have the opposite effect on Tyson Fury, though. It's the path to being overweight and complacent.
