Does Ron make the top 25 of all time?

No. Not close

No. Top 100 possibly. He was a decent fighter that beat a few contenders after their primes (Ellis, Bonavena) also had an amazing win over Shavers. Lost to Jimmy Young, Jerry Quarry, Ali and Foreman in his biggest fights but was always competitive. Would have been a handful for anyone in his prime.

He'd make my top 40. Wins over Shavers, Bugner, Ellis, Bonavena, Middleton is a high quality resume.

The bigger story on him is what could have been had he got am earlier start

No, hand speed was ordinary and boxing IQ was questionable. Looked a little one-dimensional.
His toughness and punch made him a handful, but he's nowhere near the top 25.

However, his legendary clash with Foreman might be one of the top 10 greatest major heavyweight fights of all time...maybe top 5.
