and I'm not talking about the narc in the park - although everyone does mention that tbh - I'm thinking more like what would be top 5/6 - the likes of conteh v hutchins, snagg v sholefield (fight of the year contender in UK in early 80s I recall) or harkin - Newman - fights like that - big ones, small ones, local derbies (ala robbie davies snr v jkoe lally - that was big in the day and lived up to expectations) - maybe even older ones? dick tiger v pat mac? tarleton v miller? kane v jurich? or my fav - percy jones v eugene criqui - although no-one here will have ssen it - it was 1914 like. in the old liverpool stadium in pudsey street - now the site of a carpark but it was the old odeon in london road.
anymore?

Good questions - I am only surprised that there haven't been the usual scousers on giving their opinions (you usually can't shut them up).
Its almost as if they discovered boxing when Boomer started gobbing off and don't know anything else.

Forgive my ignorance, why is Neary v Holligan called the 'Narc in the Park'? The park bit is obvious but why narc?

i could be wrong here. But if you were being nasty or aggressive. You would be being narky. Doubt that helps.

Whatever happened to that little kid shadowboxing at the 2006 Commonwealth games in Melbourne, he was from Liverpool and he was wearing his Liverpool top - I always think he turned out to be Liam Smith but it probably isn't him.

John Lyon and Paul Fletcher going to war in the old Stadium - all of 10 ABA titles between them, or a comebacking Pat McAteer boxing desperately to stave off an unknown Dennis Andries in Birkenhead, salvaging an eight-round draw.
