I just noticed I joined this forum in 2002 and this seems to be longer than most, who has been a member longer and still posts today?

I believe I started coming here in the 7th or 8th grade... back then I was "Rufus" and later "Irish Rufus Murphy" and then "HomicideHenry"... think that was in around 1998-1999... course back then I also frequented CBZ and other sites.

Tbh I can't even remember what I did back then was print out all the records of past champions and studied them. Still have alot of them cataloged somewhere in boxes in the house.

I was here early on even before it's current incarnation....I believe it was called something else before 2001.....then I had another moniker for a while can't remember it at this point. Then I boxbuzzed myself in with this moniker during 2004 I think.

Have not posted here in a while but been here since 2005.

I seem to remember I first actually logged on around New Years Day January 2005.
I may have posted even earlier but I forgot my password and also my poster name.
Prior to that I was a poster on the Cyberboxing zone
and Larry Holmes official site forum(back when he still had one).

Do you remember it before it incarnated in 2001? I'm pretty sure it had some sort of pre boxrec life. OR it was boxrec...with a "non attached" forum option. Just seems that one board turned into another board around that time.

So if you were here that early, you must member tomato-can, (rest his soul) and a few of the early members that talked a lot about mid 50's American boxing in those early days. I wonder if I can remember some of the other names....oh...ridiculousRay was one.

Don't know about the longest, might be between Bazza and Jimbo.

But the best was definitely Squat Dog; he said more in one post than the rest of our posts put together.

I used to browse a lot before I joined as I never had internet access at home in this days. I honestly can't remember what it was like before 2001 but I do tomato-can and ridiculousRay. There was the Ali hater back then who seemed to morph into various posters over the years, can't remember his name back then though.

or even FinFangFoom or somethin like that.

But I do remember why I stopped posting there.

You see Larry Holmes was selling his official autographed bobble-head dolls on his on-line shop at about a reasonable 30 dollars each.
Then he caught wind of some greedy schmuck selling them on E-Bay for about 70 dollars each,
so then he changed and jacked up the price to his own fans at his official on-line shop at 70 dollars each.
(just about when I was going to purchase one,I noticed the price change and asked him about it on his own forum)
He pretty much said"Thats Buisness".
thats when I quit posting.

I was trying to remember the schmuck that used to post videos of himself.
They were begging Holmes to be an admin.He also ran a shaving forum.

I perused the forum for a couple of years at least before that at least but it was slow in those days so I never contributed. I used to look at Boxrec a lot, probably starting in the late 90s or early 00s back when the records were alot less reliable.

I started out posting at the old HouseofBoxing.com forum that Doug Fisher, Steve Kim, and Thomas Gerbasi founded before it was shut down or sold off. After that I kicked around a bit before landing at the CBZ which was great for a while but took the most epic nosedive I have ever seen a forum take after a mass banning of everyone who didnt share the exact same views of the loony who ran it. I also posted at ESB and CHB.
