After watching a few youtube clips of the tyson teaching guys to hit an heavy bag, an hopkins preaching about the "old skool" ways or how roy got into a training job because he seen a guy that couldnt throw a hook had me thinking, is the current group of fighters missing the basics that are now taken for granted ? besides the physical differences between fighters it seems to be diffence between a "A class" fighter and "b class".
I noticed ggg is throwing in a couple of old skool shifting (cant remember what is call but when u over reach to step in with the hook , which is now considered a no no.) but is use with great effect.

With alot of the great trainers of yester year passing it doesnt seem like those whom have the ability to pass on their craft as a full time exercise are willing to do so..... these guys are cashed an its not a easy job.
The primary reason why im asking is anyone going to be implementing the "H" on these monsters in the heavy weight division now cus is gone ? (with i feel is primed for the current slow proding monsters)
Or is the phillyshell ever going to be perfected again? once the mayweathers are out of the game?
Emanuel Steward past on his knowledge with anyone thats willing to pass it on?

IT seems with the evolution of every sport there is a progession, diet etc but this is the sweet science knowledge is power are things being missed?

Greats come and go in generations imo. Armstrong, Robinson, Ali, Foreman, Duran, Hagler, Hearns, SRL, Sweet Pea, JCC, Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Klitchko, Oscar De La Hoya, Marquez, Morales, Barrera, Mosley, Mayweather, Pacquiao...

Just to name a few, but those guys were born to be fighters. If a kid born up some mountain in the Phillipines, living without electricity in his childhood, can find his a way to a gym to fufill his calling in life, then no great fighter will ever miss what he was born to do.

In the past we've had master craftsmen like Floyd, Sweat Pea, etc... and physical marvels like Tyson, Foreman. They are few and far between but talent will never just dry up imo, there's 7 billion people in the world, we will always produce greats and knowledge is easier to come by now than it ever was.

The problem is that boxing is not so popular in many countries now, so potential greats may be going into other sports.
