As you can see in those 2 pictures, Andy lee had a break of 5 months between those fights and Tyson Fury had a break of 9 months..

BOTH OF THEM lost points by the beggining of their next fight in the SAME weight class.. lee lost 84 pts and Fury lost more than 200 points..

Why did that even happen? I have seen the same happening to other fighters as well.. its not like they were inactive for a year and that might have been a reason to.. can you give me a clue?

Fury's rating dropped due to not fighting against somebody with at least 50% of his rating for 18 months.

I suspect that Lee's drop is due to going up in weight (the same was as his rating increased when he went down to 154).
His LMW rating of 257 was multiplied by a square of 154/160.

Νο Lee fought at Middleweight by the time the rating dropped

257 was his LMW rating. If you mean his previous drop, then the reason is the same as for Fury.

The Andy Lee rating drop in question is explained by the poor opposition penalty. He got hit with it in December 2013, between the Hafner fight and the Horta fight.
