Heart says Stiverne
Head says Wilder
Stiverne Keeps his left hand too low and I feel Wilder Will land a whopping right hand before Stiverne gets his left hand up to defend it and its over.

Don't rate Wilder as a boxer but with power like that, he's always one punch away from a win and I don't see Stiverne having good enough movement/defense to avoid the power punches for 12 rounds.

Wilder's reach (much longer than Klitschko's) will make it extremely difficult for Stiverne to avoid Deontay's power shots.
Stiverne likes to stay on the ropes and wait for a chance to counter, and that will prove disastrous against Wilder because Deontay can stand out of range of Stiverne's counters and still get to him.
Stiverne will need to box and move a lot to have a chance of winning, but I think he'll gas if he moves around too much, and then become an easy KO for Wilder.
Wilder's KO may come early, or it may come in a middle round. Either way, Stiverne will be stopped.

If Wilder is smart enough to use his height and reach advantage and stay away from fighting inside, he KO's Stiverne inside of 5 rounds.

could depend to some extent on what weight Stiverne comes in at. He's with King so, historically as a first time defence something will have gone sour and he'll come in on the heavier end of 245..in which case he get stopped inside 3 rounds.
if however. he comes in at the second arreola weight or below...it could be interesting for a few rounds. but really stiverne is pretty bad.

It's not going the distance and either guy could win. If Stiverne were a bit quicker of foot I would definitely pick him - I think he needs to keep close to Wilder and I can't see him surviving too long sitting back on the ropes like he did (well) against Arreola. I agree Stiverne's weight is an important factor, but really either guy could win this by an early KO.

Why would anyone want Stiverne to win? He is so limited. Wilder is still an unknown commodity.

The longer the fight goes on, the more Stiverne has a chance.
It would be interesting to see what Wilder is like past the 4th round. I would have thought that his conditioning training has really been upped for this one.

Wilder should KO Stiverne early mainly due to size, reach and power. If Stiverne can last past 5 it will be a new ballgame. So early Wilder and Stiverne late. All said and done Wilder KO in 3

One guy has good skills, speed and power in addition to facing better competition. The other has beaten spotty opposition, and only has power, in addition to a shaky chin.
I'd say Stiverne wins inside 6 rounds. I expect Wilder to fold like a chair if he's hit flush. A first or second round KO would not shock me at all.

A first or second round KO by either fighter wouldn't surprise me. That's why this fight is so intriguing. A decision by Wilder wouldn't even surprise me that much. The only result that would surprise me is a Stiverne win by decision. But even that could happen.

And who has he fought? He can punch, but his boxing ability, for a supposed future world champion, is absolutely awful.

I genuinely see Wilder ripping that title away from Stiverne very quickly

He hasn't had to box. He has knocked people out with a right hand and left hook. I'm still agnostic on Wilder, but for someone to suggest he "had a bad teacher" when he passed every exam with a KO inside of 4 rounds is a bit off the mark IMO. Of course almost all of his opponents were awful with the exception of Scott who drew with Glaskov and recently beat Leapai, so Scott is still in the thick of things.

If they were exams he was told the questions a week before and given the answer sheet to do them with.

The same Scott who got stopped by Chisora, Who Fury dominated and stopped, If Wilder was good he would of fought the winner of that fight not the loser.

Wilder, I hope. If Stiverne wins we can look forward to Wlad - Stiverne and we all know how that will end. At least Wilder is big and has power.

wilder can win that fight but he Needs to be smart and use his range and jab. stiverne is a Counter Puncher and if wilder uses his jab well stiverne who has no quick feet will have a hard time finding him.
what wilder Needs to avoid is lunging into his power shots and combination punching because that will give stiverne openings for Counters because wilder is very open in inside and half distance and can't block punches.
so wilder Needs to stay Long, use a lot of Jabs, double Jabs and 1-2s (without lunging which he sometimes does) and avoid being to aggressive and throwing combinations.

There have been several threads addressing this question and I've posted more detailed responses in those, but in short I think Wilder wins. And while his opposition has generally been poor it's not like Stiverne's has been good either; aside from Arreola, who has always fallen short against world class fighters, his best opponent was probably 40 year old Ray Austin, and Austin generally outboxed him and was winning on two cards into the 10th. After those two it's largely an assortment of Willie Herrings, Robert Hawkings, and Lyle McDowells.
I'd also favor several other HWs against Stiverne, such as Fury, Pulev, Povetkin, Jennings, and obviously Wlad. If Haye returns and is remotely as good as he was a few years ago I'd expect him to beat Stiverne too, and I'd make people like Takam, Perez, and Thompson live underdogs.
