BOB ARUM-Is he killing The Fight?

Bob Arum is really doing his best to kill the Floyd/Manny fight. This weekend, the genius, spoke up through the media but seemed to be talking to Floyd directly by saying "Floyd can find another date, he's not even Mexican" (referring to Mexican holiday, May 2nd). Bob Arum showed why he should have NO PART in the negotiations for The Fight.
Arum's so protective of the money he could earn with his May 2nd PPV numbers with Cotto & Alvarez that he would jeopardize the greatest fight in history from happening.
Who does he think he is telling Floyd when and where he can fight? Floyd owns PPV and he fights whenever HE wants. Everyone else needs to adjust, not the other way around. Does Arum really think that Floyd will consider his opinion to change dates? No. In fact, it puts yets another log onto the fire of obstacles standing in the way. There are too many logs on that fire as it is.
Manny needs to step up right now and tell Arum to keep out and shut his mouth. Why Manny needs a promoter at this point in his career is beyond me but if he really wants this fight to happen, he needs Arum to step away for a fight. Pay him his percentage per normal but let Floyd know that Arum is not part of the negotiations.
Boxing is in tough shape right now with the way promoters are killing the sport. Haymon's management model is Pro Boxer, Anti Fans. Haymon's model maximizes the money his boxers make while safeguarding them against the tough fights. Make more money fighting easier fights is what should be his mission statement. Now Bob Arum is single handedly killing the chances of the world seeing Manny and FMJ in the ring. The world needs to speak up and shut Arum up and out of these negotiations.
What do you all think about this? Why is no one calling Arum out for this? Help me understand this.

You understand it perfectly, and that is exactly what he is doing. I have said for years now he is the main reason it has not happened. Manny is afraid of needles, his cut needs 6 months to heal, a separate stadium needs to be built, Floyd doesn't have anyone to guarantee his money, Floyd doesn't deserve more money, etc, etc. His list of excuses is long. Arum is the main obstacle for this fight not happening. If Manny doesn't push for the fight himself, and demand it, we will know he doesn't really want the fight either. Talk is cheap.

There are a lot of factors in this fight not happening. But I always thought
Arum is the biggest obstacle.
Boxing will be better off when he retires.

Saying something like that should have no effect on anything.

According to what you're saying it is Mayweather who is the problem. He seems to have some major insecurities and some strange fear of Arum.

What has Arum done wrong? The blame for the fight not happening is certainly not just on Arum.

Good read on what Arum is doing, and what he has done.

@ Horse
Let me know what you think after reading the article. I assume you are not new to boxing, and have at least somewhat followed the Floyd vs Manny BS before now.

Cotto recently came out and said he doesn't care at all about fighting in May. I guess that leaves Canelo. Arum's BS about poaching that date is so beyond ridiculous. Pac fought Hatton and Mosley on the same weekend. Did he poach the date then?
Simply put, the ball is in Pac's court. Time for him to step up and demand the fight to Arum. He can't be that damned dumb to let Arum ruin it. If he doesn't, it will clearly show he doesn't want the fight.

It's more to do with Floyd not knowing his role. when he wanted to fight Canelo, he had to work with Canelo's promoter. If he wanted to fight Pacquiao, he has to work with Pacquiao's promoter. I'm not sure if he doesn't want to fight Pacquiao, or, if he can't accept Arum being top dog.

No it has to do with the fact that Arum can not stand the fact that his fighter is the B side.

Of course he is. Arum's too personally involved in this one.

No, Arum doesn't mind paying Floyd a bigger purse than Pacman. Floyd doesn't want to be a fighter fighting for a purse, he thinks he's a big shot promoter now and
can't stand the fact he's the B side to Arum outside the ring.

Arum also forced Void to go on vacation when Pacquiao accepted Mayweather's cutoff date, and he also forced him to offer him to offer his bogus flat fee three years ago, too. Not to mention the way he forced Mayweather to publicly challenge Pacquiao at a press conference, only to completely deny ever mentioning the latter's name two months later.
It's all down to Arum.

This. Fighters wanna fight & Manny & Floyd are nothing if not fighters even if they got a ton of flashy shit (randomly just watched an old MTV cribs & was reminded Manny has a fireplace in his f#cking pool).
There is zero doubt in my mind if Bob wasn't involved in this situation this fight woulda happened years ago.
